Description

Reprise your role as a supernatural assassin in Dishonored 2.

Praised by PC Gamer as “brilliant”, IGN as “amazing” and “a super sequel, declared a “masterpiece” by Eurogamer, and hailed “a must-play revenge tale among the best in its class” by Game Informer, Dishonored 2 is the follow up to Arkane Studio's first-person action blockbuster and winner of more than 100 'Game of the Year' awards, Dishonored.

Play your way in a world where mysticism and industry collide. Will you choose to play as Empress Emily Kaldwin or the royal protector, Corvo Attano? Will you make your way through the game unseen, make full use of its brutal combat system, or use a blend of both? How will you combine your character's unique set of powers, weapons and gadgets to eliminate your enemies? The story responds to your choices, leading to intriguing outcomes, as you play through each of the game's hand-crafted missions.

Story:

Dishonored 2 is set 15 years after the Lord Regent has been vanquished and the dreaded Rat Plague has passed into history. An otherworldly usurper has seized Empress Emily Kaldwin’s throne, leaving the fate of the Isles hanging in the balance. As Emily or Corvo, travel beyond the legendary streets of Dunwall to Karnaca, the once-dazzling coastal city that holds the keys to restoring Emily to power. Armed with the Mark of the Outsider and powerful new abilities, track down your enemies and take back what’s rightfully yours.

Key Features:

  • The Assassins
As fully voiced characters, Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano now bring their own perspectives and emotional responses to the world and story. Use each character’s set of powers, gadgets and uniquely-tuned weapons in creative ways as you explore the world – whether you fight your way through the city streets or sneak across the rooftops - and which enemies you decide to eliminate or spare.
  • Supernatural Powers
Advanced bonecharm crafting and all-new upgrade trees allow you to customize your powers in vastly different ways. Become a living shadow to silently stalk your targets, link enemies so they share a common fate, or mesmerize your foes and dominate their minds. Choose from nearly infinite combinations of violence, nonlethal combat, powers and weapons to accomplish your objectives.
  • Imaginative World
From the grimy, rat-infested streets of Dunwall to the lush, exotic coasts of a decaying Karnaca, immerse yourself in stylized locales created by Arkane’s premiere art and narrative teams. The world is a character in its own right, rich with story, architecture and eclectic characters. It is also punctuated by signature mission locations, such as the Dust District, ravaged by dust storms and warring factions, and a madman’s mansion made of shifting walls, deadly traps and clockwork soldiers.
  • The Void Engine
Dishonored 2 is beautifully brought to life with the new Void Engine, a leap forward in rendering technology, built from id Tech and highly-customized by Arkane Studios. Designed to support world-class art direction and take full advantage of the powerful hardware this generation has to offer, the Void Engine allows for significant advances to all game systems, including responsive stealth and combat Artificial Intelligence, lighting and graphical rendering, impressively dense urban environments, and story presentation.

The guards seem smarter and more numerou

I can't speak for combat -- since I don't play that side of the game -- but Arkane seems to have really upped stealth

Great game, but its held back.

tl;dr: -Awesome music, atmosphere and world building -Amazing mechanics and gameplay systems -Simple plot -Clumsy writing and voice directing -Horrible performance issues *Get on sale. This game is fun and the systems in place are great to screw around with (StealthGamingBR showcases this). But this doesn't excuse the poor optimization issues that plagued this game since launch. The patches since then has remedied this issue to an extent, but it hasn't made the maximum system requirements list any more justified. WITH a gtx 1060, your rig will suffer trying to run the Void engine, which is just an "enhanced" version of idTech 5. GTX 1080 recommended. With performance issues aside, the atmosphere of the locations you visit in this game are excellent. The music fits well with the kind of culture they are trying to get at here, and I'd say it's flawless if the people residing in these places had European accents or something. Suspension of belief is barely needed despite that. The plot is simple and effective. Blamed for murders that you didn't do, you become victim to a coup planned by a crazy witch who claims is of royal blood. You take revenge on the people who were a part of the coup throughout the game, either violently or not, and set the score. The writing for the characters' dialogue is a bit on the uncanny side. The main thing that does the writing injustice is the fact that the main cast (Meagan, Emily, Corvo) do not emote. For Corvo, its understandable, he's been through some sh**. Emily has been through **** too, but being less experienced than Corvo, I think she could've had a bit more character to her rather than have her be another deadpan assassin. Meagan is just deadpan, and some lines she says seem to be written playfully sarcastic, but she delivers them like any other line she says.

great game rly fun story could b better.

first off the story DOES seem to "retread" the same path as the first one, but thats not nessisarily a BAD thing, and given how you have the option to play as emil or corvo, the emily path is a bit more reasonable that the retreading takes place. the myriad of options you have to take on any and every situation is just staggering, and EVERY encounter just feels utterly unique. secondly the game runs AMAZINGLY i have a crappy ass laptop with a 1000 series QUADRO card, that couldnt play dishonored 1 outside of medium settings, with light rays and ambient occulsion off at a steady framerate, yet i can play dishonored 2 in ULTRA with lightrays AND ambient occulsion ON, at an amazingly smooth framerate, so long as i can keep the damn computer cool, which i do by having it open, vertical, and i have a fan blowing on it, LOL, if i drop it down to high, and turn AO off, it runs MUCH cooler......so i HONESTLY have NO IDEA what the people complaining about its "crappy optimization" are even talking about. my only real gripe is the new color scheme for emilys night vision power makes the pickups almost impossible to see, once you level t up to have that ability anyway.
