Original as heck, Bold, Transgressive
The only reason I don't give it 5 stars it's because the game does a very bad job explaining it's mechanics, and it's interface (I didn't know how to heal until I accidentally click the health icon). And the first hour is...slow. Apart from that? Is a game that take risks, it's bold, it's innovative, it's weird, it's profound, and it makes a lot of important, pertinent and well-thought political statements. If you like narrative games, don't hesitate. Give it a shot. Totally worth it.

Fantastic, dark, with a glimmer of hope
There's a lot of text, soo much... but it's absolutely worth it! It took me a while to finish Disco Elysium, but the world and the characters got more and more deep and interesting! The RPG elements are woven into it brillantly. I absolutely adore the way the devs incororated the skill tree as your inner voice. It's also the only game I know where having high skills in everything is not always beneficial, because your inner monologue starts giving you contradictory information. Brilliant! I'll stop here, you'll need to read a lot more anyway if you dive in :P Give it a chance!

OK but I won't return to it
Certainly a bit different to other games I've played over the years so has some novelty value but on the whole I found the story not especially engaging or immersive. Specific frustrations are that the story and game play are quite short - and even then feels spun out - slow movement of the character around the actually very small map, having to revisit places several times and a lack of genuine excitement or jeopardy. Too dull for my tastes.
