Full voice acting. All of the city's beautiful people are brought to life with full English voiceover. Play characters against each other, try to help them, or fall hopelessly in love as each word is spoken to you with the appropriate accent and emotion.

New political vision quests. Face the reality of your worldview as your political compass leads you down new paths. Discover more citizens, a whole extra area, and monumental sights as you leave an even bigger mark on the world by chasing your dreams.

Unprecedented freedom of choice. Intimidate, sweet-talk, resort to violence, write poetry, sing karaoke, dance like a beast, or solve the meaning of life. Disco Elysium - The Final Cut is the most faithful representation of desktop role playing ever attempted in video games.

Countless tools for role playing. Mix and match from 24 wildly different skills. Develop a personal style with over 80 clothing items. Wield 14 tools from guns to flashlights to a boombox, or pour yourself a cocktail of 6 different psychoactive substances. Develop your character even further with 60 wild thoughts to think – with the detective's Thought Cabinet.

A revolutionary dialogue system with unforgettable characters. The world is alive with real people, not extras. Ask probing questions, make insightful observations, or express your wildest desires as you play cop or something completely different. Disco Elysium's revolutionary dialogue system lets you do almost anything.

Carve your unique path across the city. Explore, manipulate, collect tare, or become a millionaire in an open world unlike anything you've seen before. The city of Revachol is yours for the taking, one small piece at a time. From the streets to the beaches – and beyond.

Hard boiled, hard core. Death, sex, taxes, and disco – nothing is off the table. Revachol is a real place with real challenges. Solve a massive murder investigation, or relax and kick back with sprawling side-cases. The detective decides, the citizens abide.

Godlike RPG

I used to believe that only Chris Avellone could exploit the computer rpg medium to tell good stories. Now I think of that for Robert Kurvitz as well. 11/10

Another fine successor to Planescape

Yes, the setting is not the same, yes, we roam in a city and not on various planes of existence, but I came back 20 years ago while playing this game. It brought me to the humor, the cleverness of Planescape: Troment's dialogs. And then I played a couple of hours more, and developed my personality. The game reoriented me from the superstar cop to the boring-communist-hobo-paranormal explorer cop (which, come to think of it, is like I'd like to spend my real life, it's way cooler to propagate Marxist ideas and seize the means of production than develop software for capitalists). It is not a Baldur's Gate like (and not truly like Planescape). Fighting is not the main focus, but rather going to situations where you have to throw a dice and, depending on your character, if you are above or below a certain threshold, you'll get something. While failing a dice-throw is bad, it sometimes is best to miss something to get an unexpected result. Yes, there are "Game Over" that can happen if you really screw up things, but then learn from it and don't try to be in the same situation. But what makes Disco Elysium truly outstanding is its setting. The degree of details, the quality of the writing, and, after a few hours, when things start to click together, the reactions of your cop (or his sidekick) will definitely make you laugh, think, care for them,... So far I have just done one run, and am waiting a bit before starting my second one. I'll definitely try something different, less hobo and more shiny, maybe become a full-on brawling fascist ? But I'll definitely like again to wake up hangover in this hotel room and start big quests like "how to grab my tie from the fan ?" or "where the f*** is my left shoe ?". It really puts the "Role Play" in RPG. The true polar opposite of mindless dungeon crawlers. To sum up, one of the games that I'll remember having played for decades (and in a good way). If you read me ZA/UM, please, I beg you, MORE.

This is Art

This is the kind of Art I truly love, so introspective, close to the Edge, the right mood that I love, a kinda hopeless mood that still obtains some last resembles of hope. The Moment you realize that all you have done is worht nothing, not even to you and it is all over, and you just accept your fate of living some live and seeing how this is going down. No ambitions other than the ones you make along the way. It is hard to explain the mood but I love it as it is the mood I personaly love to paint into my own artworks. But the game is so long, which for me is perfect, but you have to accept it. Actually I think the lenght is perfect, best to play it in one sitting!. Yeah that sound crazy! But seriously it gets you really in the mood, I also recommend starting the game drunk, but keep some energy drinks on your side. Nah of course I don't "recommend" that, I am just saying, it would be the perfect mood. And if the game keeps on going, that is perfect, life keeps on going! That is Art!. Well now you play art in a way that makes the experience allone art, so it is artception hahah, bad pun. If I ever would have to be stuck somewhere for eternity, I think I would want it to be Disco Elysium. Whatever that says about me.

An Experience

A game that crushes the CRPG genre entirely, its original art style, story and significantly in-depth writing makes things like Baldur's gate and fallout seem like it was designed by preschoolers for babies. If you want an adult game that actually gets you thinking not only about its many intriguing mysteries and its world but about yourself and our world this is for you. If you have a twitter or Instagram account and daily doom-scroll skip it, we don't need your input

Mystery, Cardigan, Blanket

This game was constantly on my mind when I wasn't playing it, and absorbing me when I was. The story is really good, and some moments left me feeling things acutely. Very dialogue-heavy, which I consider a plus. Honestly, very worth it, looking forward to another playthrough down the line.
