It could have been great. Could have.

I`m a pretty big fan of all submarine related games, historical, fantasy, tactical, you just name it. Therefore I was looking forward to this one - less realistic, but also with promising story and audiovisuals and finally a nice departure from usual sub genre - no WWII or Cold War, no actual conflict but instead set in a strange post apocalyptic world. This could be great, but it isn`t. Why, do you ask? First of all, it`s a real bugluvion. I`ve never seen that many bugs, that frequent and NOT fixed in a released title. Well, at least some of them are amusing like the chance to just keep selling your items over and over again, draining the merchants of their cash. However, quite a few of them can be game breaking. Say, you need to sail into a tight labirynth to save a mate and the only way to find the objective is by following a path of buoys? No problem - they`re not visible. They should be, but they just aren`t so have fun. Also, UI and controls are rather flawed - they seem to work, but following your quests as well as navigating and findins objectives can be pretty difficult. There`s also this issue that the map is often giving you a rough idea, but do not rely too much on actually finding your objective by following it. The UI makes a fighting also an extra challenge as, especially at first it`s quite confusing. Lastly, there was a potential for a great story and interesting characters, something you can get regardless of bugs, UI or limited budget. Unfortunately, the characters are rather simple, there isn`t much interaction between them and most of the have just a few lines to share. Could be great, but isn`t. To wrap it up: nice potential, nice music and audiovisuals, great melange of 3D and 2D executed very well - but all that is buried under a deep sediment of bugs, half cooked ideas, half working solutions and lack of that special something. It stands out in my eyes as a beautiful failure.

Bugs and chaos

It seemed to be a promising game. Yet it fails technically - my three recent saves contain 0 money and no inventory items except for the main weapon. Another pain is the combat system, which is totally chaotic. I never see what I'm aiming at, the sub is in the way. I'm sorry to say, but to pay for it would be a waste of money AND time. Uninstalling.

Nice undersea game

Diluvion could have been indeed much more, but it's a good game even as it is. The setting, the music and the concept of the game are its strong points, if you like steampunkish unusual settings you'll like it. The controls, as many have said, are a bit weird, not broken, but you'll get used to them pretty easily. If I have to point out Diluvion's biggest fault is that... with a universe like the one they created, there's so little lore in-game, NPCs have very little to say, no book/other source in-game to learn more of the setting. Not every game can (and should) be as lore heavy as Sunless Sea (to cite a game that shares some elements with Diluvion), but there are different steps, and in this respect, at least as far as I've played, Diluvion is lacking a bit, I want to know more about this world!

Unimpressed, too many bugs

I was in love with the wonderful Sub Culture, ad hoped to find a similar experience in this game, but after a first good impression, I had to surrender to the game's many major bugs. I'm waiting for some fixes, provided they'll ever come.

Good idea, poor execution

This game is an arcade submarine adventure. Submarine part is very arcadey, salvaging part is very DnD-like. It has nice art direction, but suffers from obvious consolitis and ridden with bugs. I didn't have crashes like others mentioned, but infinite money bug and 'lose all your stuff on load' bug were enough to turn me away. I'll definitely be coming back once issues are fixed, until then - 3/5 torpedoes.
