Originally developed by Synergistic Software and released in 1997, Hellfire was not an official Blizzard product and did not carry Blizzard’s endorsement or label. Despite that, in response to Diablo players who have expressed a desire to experience the content, Blizzard has given the OK for it to be included as a free add-on with Diablo purchases on GOG.COM.
Hellfire offers a non-canonical single-player storyline where players must defeat a powerful demon named Na-Krul who is threatening Tristram. The expansion also adds a Monk class, new weapons and items, new missions, locations, dungeons, and enemies. Hellfire will be accessible while launching the original Diablo.

FINALLY, a worthy port on newer Windows!
I have been playing it for a long time 23 years ago and I am going to play it again. And again. Agree, graphics is not the best anymore, but the simple gameplay, good story, great items and newer-seen-again dungeons just owns it. For me (as an almost 40-year old...) one of my alltime favourite games! P. S. Still looking for "The Grandfather" and the "Windforce"...

Competently Constructed
I bought this game hoping for a faithful refresh of Diablo that won't require me to run it through a Windows XP VM. That seems to be what I've gotten. I've been playing the improved resolution version and have had no issues. It plays pretty much exactly as I remember. Now that I'm a bit older and a bit wiser, I'm playing the game more competently and having quite a bit more fun as a result. If you want to play the original Diablo, it's worth getting this.

Love it so far
Part way through the game, no glitches or issues, runs great on windows 10, didn't need to download anything extra or set anything extra, running it with gog galaxy 1.2.57. As far as the game goes, love the game so far, keeping me entertained, dark and gritty. Killing monsters will make you feel like you are making a difference, especially when you save and quit and come back another day to play, meaning the floors that you wiped clean, stayed clean. After I finish this game and hellfire, I plan on continuing through the series, definitely a different experience from D3 or even the event "Darkening of Tristram." With that said, I hope you all enjoy this game as much as I am, and play with the lights off, turn the sound up, stay hydrated, and be a one man army against the forces of HELL.

A Gem to Own
A true classic that really brings back fond memories as a kid waiting all night for this game to download and finally getting chills from the eerie music and gameplay. With the expansion pack Hellfire thrown in, as well as an option to choose between revamped that has higher resolution support and classic SVGA Diablo, all of which works in modern Windows 10, this is a must own for any true 90s fan. Hope they remake the others, especially Diablo 2 and Lord of Destruction.

Overpriced, but excellent
This is an excellent, groundbreaking game, still relevant for gaming and game design. However, I find 9,99 too expensive.
