Diablo + Hellfire

...but now lives like a rat, in a sinking vessel. So too does this iteration of Diablo 1. An original disc copy works on Windows 10 if you know what you're doing. Also the high res feature has been available as a mod for decades, Blizzard just classified it at a cheat at the time. If you've never played Diablo 1, know that even this original player of the game can't stomach the aged control and gameplay after Diablo II, which is vastly superior.

Even though Diablo II is far superior than this, Diable I has a special place in my heart. The soundscape and the visuals of the game are far better designed than in many modern games. And now when there is an official support for better resolutions, this game is a must have for every gamer out there. I still have my original CDs but they have deteriorated to a point that they are no longer readable. So this was a really nice release, thank you GOG and Blizzard! I've now played this release for about 2,5 hours and the game works great on my Windows 10 machine.

I have the original disk for Diablo. The graphics are much better and the game play is smoother than the original. It is a blast to play the classic Diablo as it is now rendered.

It kind of pains me to give Diablo such a low rating as I have really fond memories of it. I remember there was a time where I insisted that Diablo 1 was better than Diablo 2, I prefer the idea and memory of the horror-themed, slow-paced dungeon crawl of Diablo 1 over the more action-y sequels. But I tried to play this game and man it just does not hold up. The fixed low framerate, bad UI, really ugly (if atmospheric) graphics. The thing that kills it for me is that the game-play just isn't that good, it's super repetitive and simple as hell. It's kind of boring. If you want Diablo 1, this is a decent way to run Diablo 1, and I think it's fair for 10 dollars. But don't get this expecting anything like a modern Diablo game. I kind of regret buying it, but I think nostalgia, a little fun, and getting my rose colored glasses broken was worth 10 dollars.

I only played D2 but am going to really enjoy this.... then move to D2 with lvl120mod then move to D2MedianXL (lvl150 max) This is going to be an EPIC journey. ON WITH THE STORY!
