Diablo + Hellfire

So gload that GOG have this. Hope to have them around for many years.

It's a lot more atmospheric than any of the sequels and in some ways has more in common with a souls game, especially when talking about the single player campaign. Diablo 2 is actually a sequel to the multiplayer part of this game, turned up to eleven. But in single player the dungeon is a finite resource, because nothing respawns. It's not about making crazy builds that kill the entire screen with 1 press of a button. The dungeon is a capricious goddess. It gives and it takes. You must make good use of whatever she gives you, becuase otherwise you won't be able to finish. The entire dungeon economy is a closed system, so you must manage all your resources and play tactically. Sometimes you sacrifice health in order to keep some mana, other times you waste mana in order to preserve durability on your sword because you're low on money and your spare mace is only good against a different type of enemy. Found a ring that you don't need right now? NEVER SELL IT! Because it might be useful later against different enemies. Inventory full? The world is your stash, because everything is permanent and stays on the ground even after quitting! Anything you gain has been taken from somewhere else which you won't get back anymore. Most importantly, it's still fun and a wildly unique experience, go play it.

Even after all these years its still an amazing game in every way. I play through atleast once a year and love it every time!

All began with this game! I know Diablo 2 is the best of all times, but this one might be my personal favorite.
