Description
Twenty years after the events depicted in the multi-award-winning Deus Ex, the world is just beginning to recover from The Collapse. As an elite agent-in-training, you must match wits against numerous militant factions bent on violently reshaping the world to suit their own agendas. Armed with a multitude of high-tech gadgets and cyberpunk bio-mods, you are granted nearly superhuman powers. Travel the globe to uncover fiendish plots and convoluted conspiracies of world domination. Unmask the conspirators, and discover the shocking truth behind your own origins.

Deus Ex: Invisible War features the open-ended gameplay of its predecessor: use multi-tools and trickery to get past your opponents, or just turn their technology against them as you hack their turrets and computer systems. Along with bio-mods and choices that let you mould your character as you desire, take advantage of the numerous ways to customize your weaponry whether it’s to increase their rate of fire or clip capacity. Last but not least, take advantage of the various factions, such as the Omar who have the only black-market bio-mods, to further your aims.

Who should you trust? Who should you fight? Every decision you make affects the world around you. A good choice for RPG and action fans alike!

  • RPG-ish design allowing for multiple solutions to every quest, whether through stealth and treachery or all guns blazing!
  • A selection of unique biomods such as the Neural Interface that allows you to hack computers or Cloak to hide from enemies, cyberpunk style.
  • Globe-hop to real world locations such as Seattle, London, and Cairo.

i get that this was an xbox game first and got ported to windows after the fact, but consider the ps2 got a port of deus ex that's... mostly in-tact, i have a hard time believing the most powerful system of that generation could've have produced a better game. stats aren't missing because of the xbox, they're missing because ion storm had no faith in console players the levels aren't small just because of the xbox, they're small because ion storm couldn't fathom a game that didn't have the best graphics the system could put out, even if the game had to suffer. the plot isn't incoherent because of the xbox, the plot of incoherent because ion storm refused to tell fanboys to shut up and play the game for what it is. just as a game, it's mediocre, which is far from the worst thing a game can be, but i have absolutely no respect for it. it's a curiosity. nothing more.

Truly Mediocre

Actually I finished this game the day before it was realeased on GOG so I have a fresh memory of its mediocracy. Whereas the first Deus Ex was grand in scale, story and freedom of choices this game is dumped down in every single way, except graphics - which instead generated a fretful engine and extremely small levels. Still, there is some enjoyment to be had from this game; it's more straightforward than its predecessor which some people might appriciate and for every one who liked the first game its fun top see how the universe has evolved in the 20 years that has passed since the first game. Just don't walk into it with too high hopes

Deus Ex 2 Invisible War

I quite enjoyed Deus Ex 2 but sadly when compared to Deus Ex it suffered the same fate as the changes that where made to Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2. The story and environment still feel like a Deus Ex game to me anyway albeit not as gritty looking You could still make your character focus on stealth or more action but unfortunately because of the ability system in it, you could not really do a hybrid you had to pretty much had choose one or the other. Did like the fact you could have your character be male or female. Also yes the hub cities where not as big but there was still plenty of side quests to partake in. Also when finishing quests and turning them in it did for the most part give you choices on how you finished them. Also in terms of music the game is quite enjoyable especially when going into club you hear Kidneythieves music attributed to the NG Resonance character in game. A nice little touch was actually having Free Domniguez from the Kidneythieves voice her. All and all to me if you can look past the difference between Invisible War and Deus Ex you will find quite an enjoyable game. .

A good game

A good game, victim of having a famous father. If there was no Deus Ex 1,this would get more favourable reviews. It was unlucky it was the sequel to the almost (for many) godlike first game. On its own it is a good solid FPS game with some RPG elements upgrading yourself and having some options on how to proceed with each level. It's not as big or as sandboxy as the previous game, but it is not a rail shooter either. There is good action, good graphics, everything is pretty good with it and unless one is looking for an equal or better game to DE1, he/she should have a good time with this game too. A good solid 3 star game for me.

Not bad, nor good.

This games isn't bad but not good either. The game start with an interesting intro but fail to deliver. Not only the game will reveal much shorter that it's predecessor, but is also less interesting in storyline and technical execution.
