Description
Twenty years after the events depicted in the multi-award-winning Deus Ex, the world is just beginning to recover from The Collapse. As an elite agent-in-training, you must match wits against numerous militant factions bent on violently reshaping the world to suit their own agendas. Armed with a multitude of high-tech gadgets and cyberpunk bio-mods, you are granted nearly superhuman powers. Travel the globe to uncover fiendish plots and convoluted conspiracies of world domination. Unmask the conspirators, and discover the shocking truth behind your own origins.

Deus Ex: Invisible War features the open-ended gameplay of its predecessor: use multi-tools and trickery to get past your opponents, or just turn their technology against them as you hack their turrets and computer systems. Along with bio-mods and choices that let you mould your character as you desire, take advantage of the numerous ways to customize your weaponry whether it’s to increase their rate of fire or clip capacity. Last but not least, take advantage of the various factions, such as the Omar who have the only black-market bio-mods, to further your aims.

Who should you trust? Who should you fight? Every decision you make affects the world around you. A good choice for RPG and action fans alike!

  • RPG-ish design allowing for multiple solutions to every quest, whether through stealth and treachery or all guns blazing!
  • A selection of unique biomods such as the Neural Interface that allows you to hack computers or Cloak to hide from enemies, cyberpunk style.
  • Globe-hop to real world locations such as Seattle, London, and Cairo.

Good Game, But Not Great Sequel

Deus Ex - Invisible War is a good game overall. It is just not the game that everyone was expecting as the sequel to one of the greatest games of all time. Simplified systems, small world, lackluster music and overall "dumbing-down" led to a good game that still has part of the Deus Ex DNA, but a very diluted DNA. The writing though is still quite good and Sheldon Pacotti did a great job within the limits of the game world (all three endings of the original being made canon) that he had to work with, albeit with some oversights to the fates of certain characters. Overall, a good experience as a game, but a major disappointment to fans that were essentially expecting the greatness of a Half-Life 2, Baldur's Gate 2 and a Fallout 2 (for their respective originals), but was given a console dumbed-down "Deus Ex - Lite".

Good Game of its own

For a IP Fanboy this game might be a bit of a dissapointment. But if you can get behind that and look the game for what it is as a seperate instance, it is a very good and fun ride in a cyberpunkt setting. The UI shows that it was designed for consoles, yet i found the story interesting. It was, at least for me, like a spin off to the main franchise/storyline of DX. I didnt view'd it as a sequel, rather than a DX Flavoured RPG Shooter. It sports multiple ways of solving your tasks, and gives you the option to modify the weapons in a way that they suit your playstyle .Like a silenced Pistol that can disintegrate Glass and short circuits any alarm protecting it. Or a SMG that shoots EMP rounds. However, all weapons use the same ammo type, which is quiet a bummer at the beginning as it feels you dont want to use your shotgun because it wastes your precious pistol ammo and vice versa. But if you can get used to that, it is a good game of its own, not deserving the fanboy slamming it gets. TLDR: Good Game of its own, but might dissapoint Hardcore-Fans of the franchise. Take it as its own spin off and not of a se/prequel.

It's Not Bad

Invisible War is a good game. It's also a good Deus Ex game. It's only negative is that it is a console port. Negatives which derive from the limited hardware the game was made for, and thus all that entails. Look beyond that and enjoy it for what it is. I highly recommend the Visible Upgrade mod.

Underrated sequel

The truth is that Deus Ex Invisible War is not a worthy "Deus Ex" game, but a worthy sci-fi RPG game because yes, it is not so advanced like the original Deus Ex, however its serious plot and its grim atmosphere surpass even that of Deus Ex and makes it a good game!

A decent sci fi rpg JC

If you really love to RPG on your pc , alas there are only so many sci - fi rpg... And Invisible War is pretty decent , without the high`s of its older brother perhaps. But its a challenge there are many missions and i have played it through several times and had fun with it. So for sure play the original first and maybe ANACHRONOX and the System shock games . But when you need a fresh game , give this a try , i feel it was somewhat underated.
