When i originally played this game on the xbox 360 it was amazing. I purchased this on my pc and haven't touched it in months. I've spent 4 hours trying to fix this stuttering mess. It would be great if i could get a refund. It is unplayable. But really the game itself is great, maybe don't play this version and play the non-director's cut instead.
Whilst not as revolutionary or as intriguing as the orginal Deus Ex, Human Revolution still is an example of making a game fun, open, and with plenty of options to tackle missions and challenges. The only issue may be the fact the story is a bit weak while lacking the depth and complexity it's predecessors have. If you're interested, it goes really cheap when on sale, and you get a fair bang for your buck experience.
This game is totally awesome, I'm replaying it for the third time right now and it's one of the best experiences I've ever had with a game and a worthy sequel to the original!
HOWEVER. There is one thing that is so annoying that it can turn you away from this otherwise excellent game, and that are the horrible stutters that are happening almost constantly - especially in the city hubs.
I've tried every fix that I've been able to find over my multiple playthroughs, but most of them made the issue worse, or much much worse. The best result I was able to get before was like one hard stutter/frame skip per 10 - 15 seconds. BUT, yesterday I've finally found something that made these stutters much less frequent and much less noticable. It may not solve your problem (I guess it depends on the particular configuration that you have), but it still might be worth a try.
The only thing I did was that I've >>removed<< any previous changes in the global setting of the Nvidia control panel and than changed the following:
Anisotropic filtering - application controlled
Background application max frame rate - 30
Low latency mode - ON
Max frame rate - 60
Power management mode - High performance
Shader Cache - 512 MB
Anisotropic sample optimisation - ON
Trilinear optimization - ON
Triple Buffering - OFF
Vsync - ON
Virtual reality pre-rendered frames - 1
It may be just my PC, however when I've done these things, the stutters nearly dissapeared. This was the only thing that helped with this for the 1,5 half years I was tryng to find anything that would solve this (not searching the whole time obviously).
So I hope this might help you to enjoy this absolute gem of a game! :-)
This is my first time to play this game.
The experience of sneaking in is very good, the game rhythm is moderate, and there is no exciting point.
The background feeling is located in the initial stage of cyberpunk, which reflects a lot of interesting content.
The whole game download only flashed back once, and the experience is good.
If you haven't played this game, it is recommended to experience it at the discount, which is worth the money.
One of gaming's best ARPGs but it doesnt run well on modern hardware on top of it's issues and bugs.
You can and should disable telemetry as it no longer serves a purpose other than to constantly eat performance. you can do this with the "DXHR Exe Patcher" mod.
It prevents sending data to Eidos and DoubleFusion when installed correctly along side other much needed changes such as ui scalling for higher resolutions.
For extra stability I used a mix of Special K and DXVK. With these modifications I've seen less stuttering and crashes on Win 10. Not perfect but almost like a new game. Fresh out of the package.
