Deus Ex™ GOTY Edition

Within five minutes of setting off towards my first mission, I was shot in the head and died. Realistic difficulty does that. Deus Ex has excellent story telling, plot, characters, voice acting, music and many other things. The two main issues are the sound quality and the monolithic feel of the engine and graphics. However, the freedom and detail this game has will easily distract you. What is so great about this game is how much freedom it gives you to play however you like. Want to be a walking tank? A sneaky spy? A diplomat with a modified pistol? That's great, go for it! You have a fairly large variety of tools to accomplish your tasks and it matters whether or not you are able to use them. You must ask questions, even when told not to. You must go where you are not allowed. You must do what you may not. The world is in the balance. While you are indeed a super human in this game, you are at the same time so insignificant.You need help as much as those who can provide you with assistance. The world is a dark place, and it is about to get darker. It is time to shine a light.

I played this again last year for the first time in about 8 years, the original the disk worked fine on Vista. I originally played it purely as an FPS. This time. I played it with the advantage of many more years of gaming experience and it was a totally new game so many of the scenarios worked out differently a good replayability factor. The graphics are a little old but you forget that as you become immersed within the story. Highly recommended.

I replayed it about 4 times over the course of 5+ years. I played it in school, I played it in university, I played it after I graduated and got a job. And probably I will replay another 1-2 times with mods. This says it all.

Deus Ex has rightly been called the best PC game ever. The music, story, missions, characters, all great. In fact, there is only one game that could possibly touch it and it's not on GOG yet. That game is System Shock II. To call yourself a gamer, these must both be in your collection. C`mon GOG, try and get SSII on deck also! Anyways, very well done to GOG for getting this Warren Spector masterpiece.

Look this is probably one of my favorite games of all time and I played it only two yrs ago by buying a copy on Amazon. It has every quality of a perfect game. It has an amazing story. It has amazing non-linear gameplay. In this game you can go into areas guns a-blazing or you can sneak around to get to mission objectives, its totally up to you. It has tons of side missions and secrets and is truly massive. It is also unbelievably immersive. Seriously once you start this game you really won't be able to stop. The world Ion Storm created was so cool and interesting and its just really a flawless game in every sense of the word. Just get it I promise you you won't regret for a second.
