Funny and refreshing point and click

Making absurd point & click games is pretty difficult : you need to have an absurd that "works" for the player, but you also need an absurd that does not totally break the "realism" of the point and click. Detective Gallo is a success on both these fronts. The investigation on the murder of plants works, and most of the characters he meets are quirky and fun (most, not all ; I really disliked the seller woman). Overall, the game strikes a very nice balance in its puzzles, almost none of the puzzles are impossible to guess ; my only regret would be that sometimes the characters unlock new lines of dialogue for no really good reason, so the solution is to go talk to a character that seems to have no relationship with the puzzle. Nonetheless, I don't think I know any puzzle games without issues with "impossible" puzzles (maybe Day of the Tentacle ?) so I will give it a pass - and 5 stars because I really want to see more games like this.

better off elsewhere

Detective gallo is a 2d point and click adventure game made in ags. now unlike most adventure game studio games detective gallo goes back to the olden days in terms of puzzles design. most modern point and clicks tend to focus more on tell a story with interesting characters with logical puzzles. not gallo however it wants to be a Lucas arts game but suffers from almost every stereotype adventure games have gotten over the years. the art is really good i could not blivet this is an ags game as most just use the sierra style. while this game sues one more in common with say humoungous entertainment. the writing is also pretty solid for the most part. sure most jokes don't hit but the fact the main character treats everything like he is in a serious norie murder mystery is a joke in itself but thats where all the good ends. the puzzles are badly designed. there is never a clear indication on what you are supposed to do it relies s way to much on moon logic. as such your gonna want a walkthrough on hand at all times. really this game can not be recommended unless its on sale and you have nothing else to play. if you want a better modern comedy point and click your better off with such games as : the journey down, thimbleweed park, or paradigm.

Nice art and story, but that's it

The game has a twisted story and beautiful art, but that's about it. 😒 It really quickly turns into "exhaust all conversation"-options and a combine hell, which is sad.. Cause it really had potential to be fun and a good game. Thus the art is beautiful and fun characters throughout the game.

Fun game but a bit buggy

Detective Gallo is very good and fun. The story with ridiculous and pretty funny. Characters and voice casts are good. But it is a little buggy. - Audio can be laggy/unclear especially in intro cutscene. - Game hangs sometimes, locking the entire desktop, and making it very difficult to kill the task (task manager is hidden behind the stuck game). In addition, savegames are huge for some reason (likely bad implementation). This makes cloud sync difficult and prone to failure.
