Fun game but excessive profanity
The game is almost exactly like Shadow Tactics, with a few small improvements. Guns are more interesting and useful, the shadow mode/showdown mode feels a little more intuitive, and that's about it. Still fun. But I am very unhappy with the huge amount of cursing and profanity there is in this game. Characters and NPCs throw out the F-word constantly. Why? Shadow Tactics didn't do this. I feel uncomfortable playing this game in front of my family. I definitely wouldn't let a child play it, even though I'd have no problem letting them play Shadow Tactics. It's not even like the profanity is in service to some great story. The dialog in Shadow Tactics was nothing special, but in Desperados III it's especially bland. For a typical example, this was the dialog after the last mission I completed: Hector: Soup is ready. Kate: This is delicious. Cooper: Needs more salt. McCoy: No, has too much salt. No story is better than a bad story. I'm probably going to switch to a foreign language to avoid the profanity and skip all of the cutscenes for the rest of the game.
