Open Source (see d1x/d2x homepage)! Works with d2x on linux, level editor is perfect, works perfectly on wine, I spend lots of time creating levels, drawback: The enemies are so stupid.

This was the game that got me into computing more than most anything else did. The down side is that when I first found this site the game was $2.99 now they want$9.99

The only thing keeping this from five stars is that Descent I looks, well, crappy on my 19" widescreen. I really wish it would support higher resolutions! Either way, these are classics for a reason . . . they are excellent.

I remember as a young child getting together with my family to play a LAN Game series that lasted hours! I literally lived my child hood ON THIS GAME! it was my favorite game and it still is! Duke Nukem was 2D... Descent another classic - and the multiplay second to none. Dated graphics and concepts now in 2017 but for its day a truly unique experience. Defo worth a bash.
