Buy this to support GOG but never playit
This game is just terrible. It is blasphemy to mention this in the same breath as Diablo or Torchlight. This game is completely unbalanced. The enemies will scale stupidly quickly and come to your town to destroy everything. The other barbarian factions are ridiculously easy to defeat, unless you give them a level boost at which point the exact opposite is true. There is no real challenge, because the controls suck! Every enemy, ally, travel point is way too big on the map so don't be surprised when you mean to attack an enemy and instead die because you opened up the dialog box with your ally and can't attack again until it is gone. For an ARPG I expect to be able to do more than just hack n slash. I expect to run, to use skills to juke enemies. You will do NONE of that here because the controls are so goddamn bad that you CAN'T EVEN RELIABLY ATTACK AN ENEMY WITHOUT ACCIDENTALLY TELEPORTING OR OPENING UP A DIALOGUE. Simply put : Cons: -NO BALANCE you will either die when someone breathes on you, or you will destroy everyone and everything. Further more adventuring past the first few points ensures you will invite OP monsters to your town to kill everyone - TERRIBLE CONTROLS wanted to go attack that monster? Nope, you clicked something else. Trying to heal, oh sorry you clicked your friend instead of your life-stone. Poison kills you. GG Obviously in here is the terrible graphics and shitty music, but I don't expect old games to wow me in those aspects. Just to be functional something that Depths of Peril is NOT. Save yourself the money and the headache of trying to understand how any one ANYWHERE could compare this to Diablo or Torchlight. Did they ever even play those games?
