After the events in Deponia, Rufus came to his senses. He's grown prudent, amicable, kind and caring, without any intention to cause major mayhem just to further his own selfish ends. It seems he is far from chaining himself to flaming saw blades, training torpedo-dolphins or plundering platypus nests. Or is he? Eventually, it's a flaming saw blade that “persuades” Goal to stay on Deponia once more, splitting her personality into three parts in the process, each aspect of her consciousness stored to a different cartridge. So it's up to Rufus and his remarkable charm to persuade Goal's personalities to fuse into one again, make his way to Elysium with her and save Deponia from certain Chaos while he's at it. Join Rufus on his way through the vast area of the Floating Black Market, meet new, bizarre characters and reunite with familiar faces.
The second adventure on Deponia tells a unique, self contained story playable without further knowledge of the first installment. Challenging puzzles, elaborate dialogues and unique wacky humor ensure a truly hilarious gaming experience. Fans of the first game will discover new aspects of familiar characters' backgrounds and have many questions answered.
Strange and wacky devices ranging from torpedo dolphins, burning saw blades, and even anti-gravity socks.
Challenging puzzles coupled with hours of dialogue bristling with humor.
Bizarre characters--both old and new--each with their own quirks of personality.

In this new adventure, you'll continue Rufus' journey along with his girlfriend Gal (Goal, in English? can't remember)
In this new chapter you'll get more crazyness and huge scenarios. You'll get into troubles when Gal personality gets splitted into 3 parts. Yes, you get it right. You'll have to deal with three different aspects of Gal and do your best (or worse) to glue them back together.
It's a fun point-and-click game, what else can I say? Just buy it.
The game starts with a crude video using some "live" shots instead of animations for some strange reason.
Rufus is cruel. Not stupid and short-sighted, like in the first game. He's flat out cruel. And then the game basically plays itself until the second song takes place.
There are typos and errors in the subtitles "ang" for "and" or "Stefano Stilletti" when the character says "Brad Pitt", or lines missing or misquoted in songs. You are also likely to lose words to the left-side of the screen.
I have at least two places where I noticed German speech or subtitles appearing in my English version game. I'm not sure if the creators thought that would be amusing, or if this is another bug.
The narrator/bard's songs are rather horribly written this time around, making them difficult to understand, even with the subtitles (and this can be said moving directly from one game to the next...) which is even more annoying, because that was entertaining in the first game.
You are kept firmly on the same set of rails as you progress in the story. Even when you have what you think might be a meaningful choice, the game progresses the exact same way every time with the noted exception of a trio of women that you need to assist in the middle of the game.
Like the first game, there is a mini-game you either have to skip or ignore in this game.
While the game had entertaining aspects, I'll likely not get the final game unless it's on sale for less than $5.
I'm not as seasoned as some of you guys, but this is the best adventure I've played. Wonderfully warped German humor? Check. Gorgeous cartoon character sprites with great animations? Check. Sumptuously detailed backgrounds? Check. Neat and original sci-fi story? Check. Localization so good you can't tell it was originally in a foreign tongue? Check and double-check.
Before I booted up Deponia Part 1, I was feeling pretty sour on adventures after having gone through Monkey 2, what with all the puzzles originally designed for hotline bilking and the insultingly stupid ending. But I'd already bought both Deponias in the afterglow of Monkey 1, so I figured I might as well try 'em. To keep it short, glad I dd. I'm back into adventures and am keenly awaiting the third and final(?) part of this incredible series.
A good point and click adventure game lives or dies on 3 apsects: World, puzzles and protagonist. This one gets 2/3 right. I have only played through half of Deponia 3 (I'm not finishing it).
The world is more of the same as D1, but with larger locations and more characters. About on par with D1 so if you like D1's world you'll like this.
The puzzles felt a bit more straight forward in D2, but sometimes it felt like like there were too many steps. (Why, after I hatch the platypus eggs do I then need to take them to the nest?)
The protagonist is worse than he was before, which is problematic. There is a dialogue at the beginning that he's grown and changed, but while this discussion is occuring he's busy killing a bird and burning a house down. He doesn't get better. He just gets meaner. The entire plot of the game is jump started because he trades in high quality parts for a lollipop... That sounds funny the parts are to help heal his love interest. Once again he's just being a selfish asshole. The game attempts to address this with some backstory, but quickly forgets about that in order to let him be abusive some more (abuse is funny I guess?). He frequently tricks his 'friends' and then gets angry when they call him on it. He uses his girlfriend as a lightning rod. He controls her with a literral remote control. Does he have a mental illness? Does the game think that's funny? I sure don't. I'm not even sure how I managed to finish D2. As with the first game Rufus get's a little empathy, but only in the last 5 minutes as he's dangling from a ledge (basically the ending cinematic). But just like the last game that's completely forgotten at the start of the next game. (Remember, abuse is funny). Also like the last game, the love interest inexplicably forgives him for everything.
One of the best adventure games I've played... Daedalic does it again, after masterpieces like Harvey's New Eyes, Memoria, Satinav, etc.
Very funny dialogue and jokes, great voice acting, artwork is top-notch. The puzzles are also very clever. In the black market hub, there's a huge number of locations and things to do, so it's easy to get a bit lost. There were a few times when I had to consult a walkthrough. The ladies (Goal, Toni, Donna) are very well drawn and cute. Goal is a super hot damsel in distress.
I'm really looking forward to playing the 3rd game.
