Only part of winning an election is really about running the country well. Democracy 4 - Voting Systems introduces a whole bunch of new policies that let you decide who can vote, how they vote, and how easy it is for big money to swing an election. This expansion pack includes the following policies:

  • Limit Corporate Donors
  • Restrict Election Ads
  • Maximum Voting Age
  • Minimum Voting Age
  • Party Donation Limits
  • Phone & Internet Voting
  • Election Robocalls
  • State Funding of Parties
  • Voter ID Law
  • State Voting Campaign

And also with this expansion, you get to choose a single metric to focus your election campaign on (such as the economy, or crime...), and can decide whether to run an honest, optimistic campaign, or risk looking untrustworthy by running a brutal, cynical campaign full of personal attack ads focusing on your opponent.

You can also change your country electoral system from 'first-past-the-post' to proportional representation, or maybe do the opposite! plus a new polling option lets you see the difference between the opinions of the electorate as a whole, and those who are considered 'likely voters'.

Played the others and 4.

Game 4 is exactly the same as previous in series. Same formula, same mistakes. No improvements. Game is utterly broken. Game is still under ea, but devs pop out a dlc? Seriously?

questionable base game content

Did you really make election content a paid DLC in a game called Democracy?? Selling policies in general makes it seem like a pay to win type of game. Does buying this DLC and selecting "health", which is always close to 100%, as a campaign focus basically just provide an election benefit for real money? Besides, I reloaded the game 20 times, and each time the election outcome was vastly different (I had between 11 and 31%). Perhaps winning should be slightly less based on chance. In any case, I think we can agree that it should be part of the base game. I want to have a challenging game, not one that is hard for base game owners, and easy for DLC owners.
