Old but still gold.

I remember getting this game as shareware and it only gave you 30 turns. Game speaks for it's time, but still run really well. The campaign adds some more interesting scenarios rather than a free for all like the first game. I always keep coming back to this game. One draw back is that you can't start at any level you want. It's best to save right before the end of a mission and make a new save for the next map. Or you could just have one play through at a time :P

Features, cool; interface, meh

Deadlock 2 comes with additional features compared to the first game released in 1996. There are more buildings, more technologies, more units, ability to create sea bases... the list goes on. There are more interfaces too -- the tech tree comes to mind. However, the quality of these interfaces is questionable in my opinion. The design from Deadlock 1 was cleaner. Deadlock 2 looks like a mess most of the times. Worth the money just to test the new features -- plus the removal of the unit limit per territory; so yeah, you can have 20 tanks in one territory waiting to launch a massive attach -- but you'll need to pay for upkeep for all that as well. Anyways, great game overall, works fine for me on Windows 10.

Great Game, if you can get it to work

I have still not been successful in getting it to run on Windows 10. The game is less a sequel and more a refined version of the first game. Play is fantastic. If you are trying to decide between the two, ignore the first game and just get this one.

This game should not be sold.

The game has problems and will bug out with a black screen as soon as you touch the mouse. GOG.com should not be allowed to sell this broken game. Search google and the one-star reviews on this site for confirmation. Shame on GOG.com for selling this product as-is.

Might take a while to get into

I loved the first Deadlock... everything about it is so perfectly 1996 in terms of interface. Its sequel on the other hand... jesus. I'd never played it, but you can tell they didn't have the same budget as they did for the first. The animations are terrible, the interface is hideous. Here's hoping YOU can peel it back and find the game underneath. I'm just going to keep playing deadlock one in the meantime.
