Dawn of Man

Well worth your money! Fantastically made, well researched and extremely enjoyable! Well worth your money, even at full price! I have but one small complaint... The towers are WAY too easy to destroy. Please patch this.

Absolutely impressed by the quality and detail of this game! It's relaxing while still being strategic, fun and even educational. I only wish it went beyond the Iron Age because frankly toward the final levels it does become stagnant -- with no real improves available for your city or its people. I was hoping for more advanced roads/paths, fortifications, clothing, etc. However, the game is still worth the $$ and no glitches running on a Yosemite OS Mac, which is fantastic!

For me an oldschool gamer, this is one of the best strategy games and i was especially waiting for a game from this period of time in history. Its really nice and plays smoothly. Graphics are pretty nice for a small team strategy game. Its of the harder category. You have to really look what are the villagers doing .. then you will learn why the hunters didnt skin the animal they kill or take meat from the animal like some other reviewer pointed out. Its because you dont pay atention to the game and mechanics and the villagers. You need somebody with a skinning knife to skin the animal. Hunter that only has a bow wil not skin the animal or take meat from it because he has only a bow in that ocassion. If you get him a knife and a bow he will skin the animal but only small portion of the rewards that he can carry.. because he has maybe 2-4 slots on him (i think).. One is for tool one for armor or clothing and one for anything else.. kids have only 2, clothing and a small thing they can carry (water, wheat, sticks and so on). When you progress this allso progresses. They get more slots and dress better..and last longer and everybody eats and drinks and gets old. Build wells everywhere in the inner land that is not near river because they will go drink a longer way than you want. Thats why others go for the animal parts allso. Anybody that is free will go for animal rewards if he has knife or you allowed them to make one and go for the animal parts from the carcass. Everyting runs great and i did not encouter any bug in my play. I have i think 40+ hours in it.

Dawn of Man is a beautiful game. I play this game just to escape to serene, flowing landscapes graced with perfectly captured shifts in light as the the in-game seaons change. Playing this game fills me with nostalgia for an era only my DNA and spirit know of. Weather events in Dawn of Man send shivers down my spine as I find myself longing for a long hike in the remote wilderness. Mechanically, the game is worker placement and resource management at a casual level, which is perfect because it doesn't get too much in the way of your enjoyment of the landscape. It's possible to make the game more difficult by changing the settings, but to me that defeats the purpose of this game. Seriously, the developers did an amazing job of capturing the feeling of the wilderness and the every changing, yet ever dependable, aspects of nature. A wonderful, peaceful way to pass a few hours.
