Darkstar One

This rating is for GOG--not Darkstar One. See other reviews for Darkstar One but ignore the one below: hungyeung's "Sorry but..." review is filled with swearing that you, GOG, should edit out. I've purchased several games from you and do so after reading several reviews. Most reviews are good reads. hungyeung's is the worst language I've seen on your site. hungyeung probably chews with his mouth open. Buy him a thesaurus, GOG. Tell him to find other phrases in place of using God's name in vain. His review is extremely offensive. I've played Darkstar One. It isn't as deep as Freelancer or X3-Terran Conflict but it wasn't as bad as Toilet Mouth claims.

I player this game short after it was released X years ago. I have BOX version. So, boring as hell. Repetitive to the limit.

yes this is a NTR game! so you pick up a chick go with her on a journey to hunt down the assasin of your father (and save the galaxy as sidequest) adn then at last you save the galaxy, find the assasin, only to find out thet the chick is actually his girlfriend and those 2 (the assasin and nope not your chick anymore) fly away into the sunset for their happy ending!

Darkstar One is easily the best space-sim since Freelancer. The difference here is players control the same ship throughout the game, instead of trading/buying new ones as credits are accumulated. This gives it more of an action-rpg feel than many open ended space-sims have, as you collect artifacts to upgrade and customize ship attributes. If you've played any Elite style space-sim you know what to expect here, lots of pirates, trading, bounty hunting, and some story missions thrown in too. Overall this is an excellent title and one of the best available on GOG.

This game was developed by the german studio Ascaron and here is no german version? Whatever the "reason" is. It's not a serious reason. It's lame. Sorry, no offense. Just the truth.
