Plays very different from part 1
This is a difficult game to judge as so much depends on personal preferences. The game itself controls all right, graphics and sound are decent enough. However, so much is different from the (fantastic) first Darksiders that chances are you (like me) may not get as much fun out of this second installment. I thus never finished this Death's tale due to issues with how the fights are now handled and slower pacing of the story. While the time required to beat this game is a multitude of part 1, it is bc content is spread thin like too little butter over too much bread due to repetitive fights and backtracking. By the time I reached the second world (each of which takes about as much time to complete as the entire first game), this new strategy (for me) had overstayed its welcome. So, the game is not for everyone and your experience depends on what is more important to you: If you got time to kill and don't mind the backtracking or fighting the same monster types in an enormous yet same-ish environment, this is a decent title that will give you weeks worth of content for the asking price. Chances are, you might be more happy with the content per dollar of this installment than the first, which could be beat in a fraction of the time. However, if you prefer something shorter and more juicy, are in it for story, setting, the characters, and a more streamlined experience, try the first Darksiders instead as this might suit your style of gaming better. Choice is yours!
