"THE BLOOD...I MUST HAVE THE BLOOD!"
Darkest Dungeon®: The Crimson Court is the first expansion for the award-winning grim and gothic RPG by Red Hook Studios. Crimson Court is a parallel campaign experienced alongside the main Darkest Dungeon content that will provide you with new challenges and variation at every difficulty level. The narrative grounding sheds some light on the Ancestor’s early days, and will be presented in the same style of cut-scenes you’ve seen elsewhere in the game.
The DLC is designed to be played alongside an existing campaign, or as a brand new one--your choice! The events and features will unlock over the course of play.
As the Crimson Curse spreads unrelentingly over the estate, parties will battle new enemies in familiar regions, as well as setting foot in a completely new sprawling environment: the Courtyard. There, amidst unique curios, traps and obstacles, a complete faction of new blood-crazed foes lie in wait, overseen by three distinct boss encounters. These slavering enemies and epic encounters will introduce new combat mechanics, testing the limits of your favorite strategies.
As the infestation grows and your roster begins to sicken, the Fanatic will emerge to roam the hallways, confusing friend and foe alike in his zealous quest to exterminate the Curse.
The odds are not completely stacked against you, however! A new playable hero class will be added alongside powerful new trinkets, town events, and a fresh way to expand and upgrade your Hamlet.
A new hero class. “Awash in blood and delusion, they bear the burden of a thousand lifetimes.”
A new dungeon region: The Courtyard
A full faction of new deadly foes
5 new Bosses with some of the most complex and devious mechanics yet.
A new wandering boss: The Fanatic
Districts: 10 new buildings to upgrade your Hamlet
Massive, sprawling maps with locked doors, prisoner rooms, and progress saves
Lore-driven trinket sets for all heroes - with set bonuses!

the point is easy: being hard is nice, to face difficulties is nice.
To see your entire party wiped out only by chance, isn't nice at all.
In the end CC just confirmed the bad trend of the core game for the ending phase: instead of building real challenges, developers only put random killer variables, like, everyturn there is a chance of 25% to lose the party, with no relation at all to what you do or you don't.
Easy missions become hard only for bad luck, and impossible missions done in a few clicks, because you are lucky.
this isn't fun at all, nice job to ruin a game indeed!
This expansion is great for the price it is.
It adds more difficulty and annoyances to your game but this is where decisions are to be made. As of right now, the drops for the blood is easy to come by with the construction of the Sanguine Building. You have to invest EVERYTHING to get the blood factory churning right-away because you will lose guys if you do not. YOU MUST THINK OF THE SACRIFICES OF YOUR GROUP TO HAVE THEM SURVIVE! You must remember, this game is bleak and foreboding. Letting low-leveled heroes off your roster is a must if you cannot support them. I only lost one guy by the time I was able to kill the Baron. (2nd part of the Crimson Court which alleviates the curse.)
As for the hero, Flagellant is not lackluster in anyway or lame. He is F'ing OP and awesome. If somebody tells me they are not. I want you to combine Martyr's Seal + Tenacity Ring/Book of Rage. (Also bring tons of Medicanal Herbs.) From all the information stated, come back and tell me if he is not lame.
Now, I do have my gripes with this game. If you like a challenge (like me) then activate the game with Crimson Court. You will be angry with yourself and Red Hook wondering "WTF RED HOOK! THIS GAME TOO HARD!" However, to mitigate the anger towards Red Hook: get rid of unneccessary heroes that have been infected, use the blood when they are "Wasting", and lastly, BEWARE NIGHT-RUNS with the contagion set to "High". You will begin to have a crimson-red hate for mosquitos.
In conclusion, for $10.00 buy it. It is worthwhile. The trinkets are great, the hero is great, the enemies in the Crimson Court are great to fight against, and the bosses are also great. I have also heard whining about how big the dungeons are in Crimson Court. To be honest, it is nothing of a let-down. It is different.
To all the baby reviewers saying the game is hard. All I have to say is famously quoted to Dark Soul Fans:
GIT GUD OR GIT REKT!!!!
To the guy complaining this is EA tactics. The game is 10 bucks. They balanced the game around their expansion what a surprise. It's honestly pathetic to compare this game to EA.
The game is great. Buy it.
