Good Heroquest-like game.
The first game is a bit basic but I found the second really good. I own them both on Steam. Worth a buy if you like heroquest type games!

The DRM-free version of Dark Quest 2 is single-player only.

Very good at what it does
I was able to defeat the Evil Wizard and complete the game. For a cheap simple dungeon game it is very good, in that you have to develop strategies using combinations of character types to win. The user interface is good, so clicking is kept to a minimum. So it does what you would expect in a pleasant way, and you do have to plan your attacks carefully to survive. You can replay missions, although it is repetitive by nature. It does hang on occasion. To be fair I have both Heroquest and Advanced Heroquest.

All right...
This isn't a bad game. It has some nice advancements over Dark Quest 1 in that the characters actually level up and get better with time. The levels are unique and in almost every level there is one special enemy or item or something else. It has a few bugs, but i personally only had one level breaking bug. I had to restart the whole level. The ending was quite disappointing, but nothing unexpected. All in all a fun, all right game. Far better than Dark Quest 1. Good luck playing
Game crashing after the 1st quest. Got to town and cannot leave. My character has disappeared. I've tried every "fix" I came across.. No matter what. Game fails at the very start... the heck with it... just "burned" my money. Too late to do do anything with GOG about it. Using Win 10 with all up to date innards... so good luck if you buy.

Good game, bad GOG version
Dark Quest is a solid, fun little dungeon crawl, marred by a lazy GOG implementation. There's no achievements, and the custom map section in game tells you to open the Steam Workshop which obviously you can't do... By all means grab it on sale, but if you want the proper experience you paid for you shouldn't grab it here sadly.
