Dark Fall 2: Lights Out

Good game maybe not as good as the first for its story but still intresting and worth a play

Not scary, not fun, super weird time travelling storyline... not remotely as atmospheric as the first one. I was able to eat my lunch while playing with no fear. In the first game, I avoided eating cause I was terrified the whole time!

The storyline is good, and good sci-fi, and based on actual events in 1912 at Fetch Rock Light. The time shifting was fun, but one ends up in information overload: there's so much text to absorb only to find much of it doesn't help with solving the puzzles. Yet despite all the info it is not clear what has really happened in 1912 . SPOILER ahead. Why did the probe go rogue, what was Magnus' role in this, how did the disc and computer key go back to the stone age?

Overall this is a good game. I've played only the director's cut. As a sequel this is an inferior product to the first one, but the story though really not in line with the original is still quite interesting. I think I got a bug that prevented me from accessing some puzzles but I was able to brute force my way to the end.

This is my favorite in the Dark Fall series! Without giving anything away, it has mad layers. It keeps in fashion with the classic Dark Fall spooky puzzle investigation vibe, with a little extra. I enjoyed taking my time to explore, loved the different atmosphers and reading all the things. The puzzles vary so some are instant wins and others make you work for it without being frustrating. You can play Dark Fall 2: Lights Out on its own, outside of the series, since it's more stand-alone. But I do love all the Dark Fall games, this one just tried something different and I loved it! Map props to the game designers.
