Bottom line, if you're a fan of science-fiction RPGs, and can live with first-person POV and real-time combat, you owe it to yourself to play this one. It's got its own take on the cyberpunk genre, so don't count on playing a hero or saving the world; it's a dystopia after all. I want to thank every developer, writer, artist, actor and other employees for making both the Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. The passion, effort and time that has been put into making these games is just phenomonal and a great example towards the entire gaming industry.
I wish you good luck on the upcoming witcher and cyberpunk series. I won't deny that I cannot wait for it but take all the time in the world.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a Beautiful Masterpiece. From the Cyber atmosphere and a distraught future with the beautiful neon lights, ads at every corner of the City to the tall corporate skyscrapers with corrupt Corporation's while working their way to the top of Night City is already more than enough to get me invested. This game is a true demonstration of what Video Games need to become especially due to the recent 2.0 update fixing about every bug from launch. Edge Runners (a Netflix show relating to the same universe) is a must watch when getting into the Cyberpunk Universe and lore because of how much this show expands the entire universe and has many Easter eggs hidden throughout the game itself. The show, while yes may be depressing, is truly amazing world building because it familiarizes the watchers with the world of Night City and the lore of Cyberpunk as a whole. The story will replace your life because of how engaging and interesting every section/character is along with every place throughout Night City. Gameplay is the most expansive I have ever seen in a video game by choosing your play style through with many different weapons and most importantly different cyberware that can truly impact gameplay in so many ways. In Cyberpunk you can truly play however you want to and the game wants you to explore this feature more to use in the Night City. The 2.0 patch fixed about every major bug and even added features that people have been wanting to see in the game such as car combat. The 2.0 update also came with a new expansion to the game I have yet to play but have heard great things about. Overall this game is an amazing experience that is must play because of how much fun can be had here especially when familiar with the world of Cyberpunk.
It was trash at launch and I am still waiting for that 3rd person camera they said the game would have when they first announced it years ago. Really hate the intro, want to skip it but cant so until i can wont play it again. The whole Jackie story at the beginning should be optional not mandatory. The game lacks a level of choice we all expected to have. Instead of a game with a huge amount of freedom you have a fairly standard open world RPG with all the average trappings and the usual expected filler content. Its well done I assume, when i played it it was buggy as hell and half the quests were broken. I finished the whole game with one sword that was way OP I found at the beginning of the game, used the same broken attack on all enemies and was bored the whole time. The Silverhand stuff was really annoying and I wanted to be done with it only to discover its the whole hook of the thing. There isnt much depth beyond that.
We should have gotten an open world game, we got a story driven narrative in an open environment. There is a ton of hand holding and rails pushing you along a guided path. More like option A, B, or C, instead of actual player agency.
If you like a game with good looks, sound, dialogue, characters and gameplay look no further. It's not quite perfect but the mod scene is robust and you can find a mod to smooth out any remaining rough edges as well as enhance just about any aspect you desire. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
