Loaded previous save files where i left the game progres and inventory overweight bug happens. , Im not going back hours and hours of game play. Another thing , messing with perks and resetting the whole perk system is such a pain in the A## ,thanks but no thanks to the arrogant devs
Phantom Liberty along with the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 patch are now in the position of being the best game and expansion I've ever played. CD Projekt RED really got their act together in fixing the original game, then improving it beyond expectations into the masterpiece it has become now. Phantom Liberty is the icing on the cake, extending the base game with some long sought after high quality action packed content.
Idris Elba did an amazing job in his role in Phantom Liberty, as well as Keanu returning to give us more epic Johnny Silverhand. Dogtown, the new area in Pacifica that the expansion unlocks is amazing! It is a rough place and the Barghest faction protecting it are tough but fun to battle.
I don't want to give away any spoilers, so all I can say is CDPR did an amazing job on this and the game and expansion will live on as high end classics going forward. I can highly recommend this to everyone, it is now the best game I've ever played (now topping Witcher 3 which was my previous top title).
Wow, what a journey this has been. CDP did it again.
The story and characters are phenomenal. Each and every one was believable and I could really see their point of view and motivation. Mocap and voice-acting are also top notch. As usual in CDP's games, there's no "everyone is happy" choice. And damn it was hard to choose. I've done all the endings and I really don't know which one I'll go "for real". All of them are heavily emotional.
The main missions are also great and fun. We have heavily scripted sections, COD style, we have spy missions, Alien: Isolation style missions and of course good old crazy carnage missions. It's clear the devs were playing with all diffeerent concepts - it's the last of CP77 so let's make it fun. And it works so well!
I have to highlight the praise about music. Oh my, it's usually good to great, but at times it just kicks in a different gear. The music during climax fight before the branching endings is the best combat music I've heard in years. The credits song from Dawid Podsiadlo hits so much.
Having played with Path Tracing I also have to say how it looks is next gen. Not this one, next. I know it'a an experimental tech and only for best GPUs, and I'm so glad I'm lucky to go for it. No game looks better.
The mechanical changes are good too. I wouldn't say the perks style is better from before 2.0, but it's different. But a lot of smaller changes makes it so that in general game mechanics make more sense.
Changes to police, fighting with cars, etc. - yeah it's nice to have, but CP77 is not a GTA game and never will be, so don't approach it as one. This game is about characters and their story. And great combat.
So if you're coming to CP77 as a sandbox game where you can play with and exploit game mechanics, or you think it's a Souls-like game about carefully crafting builds - it's a fine game, but not the best on the market.
But if you care about journey, story, characters and emotions - oh boi, you're gonna have a blast.
Where do I even start ? I got 236 play hours in this game, got to know it quite well.
I enjoyed Phantom Liberty, fun, intriguing , lots of new activities, side quests, gigs. Characters are well written, believable, gameplay really nice, whatever you decide to run with. Hacking is crazy fun, stealth works wonders too... There is only one thing I really did not like - without going into spoiler territory, there is a survival-horror element at some point in the story and I REALLY did not enjoy it. That is of course a personal preference, some people may like it, but I did not.
Besides that, expansion is really solid and I do recommend buying it, even at full price. Cheers, chooms
