It's better than the main game

I think this DLC is a better story than the main game of cyberpunk. It’s just that I think you need to have experienced the main game first, before you play this game. What I mean is, the characters will mean more to you when you have experienced the base games storyline. The Good The story was really good. It was nice to hangout with Johnny more. Dogtown had some great set pieces and a nice new cast of characters. The graphics are really good. Though I think the model for the president wasn’t very good. When Reed and the president were talking side by side, you could tell the president wasn’t a real person. It’s just weird to see compared to very detailed Reed character. The game is forgiving. At every death during end game, there was an autosave for me to go back to, to use the panel. The end game was scary. It was definitely way better than alien isolation. There’s a new skill tree. It isn’t big but it’s still something. The Bad You never got to experience or see the cutscene that was in the trailer for the game, in the actual game. I also thought that this was going to be a game where we are the Reed character and we are not. Choom and preem were overused. V says it so much in this game it was like he was a different character. Almost every character you meet says it. It was so weird. Writers need to get the whip. There is a person who knocks at a door by the bar that Alex works at. The knocking can be heard underground. I killed him but he respawns. So everytime when there was a quest objective there, I had to get rid of him. So dumb. Mr.hands was annoying. The scary mission was cheap cause right when you’d use the panel, it would come. Conclusion It sucks that cyberpunk is now finally over but I’m glad I got to play this DLC. It was a great detective sort of game.

Bad keybind preferences page! Pleas fix.

I played the original game for over 1000 hours and loved it. But since 2.0 I have not been able to play it yet because the keyboard mapping I need is not possible anymore. Please make it possible to map the same keys for different actions using tap AND hold and make ALL keys rebindable in the preferences. I am not willing to fiddle again for hours with non-selfexplaining and sometimes even misleading XML files to get my keybindings right. This should be possible inside the game for ALL keys. Why is it not possible to use the same key for "Reload" when tapping and "Holster Weapon" when holding the key? This works in other games as well. Why is it not possible to use the same key for "Crouch Hold", "Crouch Toggle" and "Evade" based on context? Please fix the PC keyboard mapping preference page. This is litterally the reason I have to deduct 4 Stars from an otherwise great game, because it is now no longer playable for me.

Action game flick for mainstream gamers.

I wont go as far as 1 star like some others did. It would be unfair in comparison to regular trash that AAA gaming is often serving. This game at least has art direction and somewhat unique world design. So if to me The Witcher 3 is easly 5 stars game ( hell, i even consider first CDPR game, TW1 to be 5 stars ), Cyberpunk 2.0 + PL in comparison appears to me like a average game that was very expensive to make. I am convinced at this point that Cyberpunk 2077 exists just as a "tool" to wow people with: A). New Nvidia hardware B). movie stars C). Aggresive promotion of controversial things like Twitch streamers, Youtubers etc. Nothing ruins my immersion more then yelling twitch streamer standing on the street in very prominent spot where my character has to go back dozens of times. Now about patch 2.0 and PL. Call me stupid but to me this is not a Roleplaying game. I never feel even for a second that my character has actual stats, atrributes, skills etc. PL has engaging story, well written characters ( mostly ) sure, but then there is endless push for action and over the top drama. Both, Phantom Liberty and legacy Cyberpunk are games worth playing for characters, story and original soundtrack. Gameplay mechanics are below average and RPG'ness of this game is non existent to me ( especialy since overhyped patch 2.0 ). What also annoys me is the economy at NC. Random garbage looting arround the world gives 20 times more money then completing a GIG or a mission where V is risking her/hes life. Math was never good in any CDPR games and they are still bad at it. I am hyped for The Witcher 1 remake. It can't be ruined since it's a remake... unless they add bunch of gaming "personalities" as NPC's (God, please no). But I fear for the new Witcher games cause CDPR has changed beyond recognition. Used to be super talented indie studio under the label " We are Rebels ". Now it's super rich studio with label " Above average with fancy graphics ".

Requirements apparently went up

So, if you have trouble like many people here check if your CPU is not overheating like mine. Leaving this 3/5 (avg) until I fix my PC and see it all. Base game was great.

Cyberpunk inverted

Let me preface this with that, by and large, I enjoyed Phantom Liberty and 2.0. The new area is decently designed, the new fixer quests are fun and the new mechanics, while sometimes directly borrowed from existing user mods (hopefully with permission...) are by and large enjoyable. In terms of gameplay, it is a solid experience. Unfortunately, in terms of story, it is not. Phantom Liberty suffers from a dissonance between the player's capabilities and V's actions in prior quests required for the DLC. Little things like changes to the side quests if one, say, fought and won the boxing championship are excellent. Unfortunately, this does not translate to the main questline. In one particular case, you meet with a faction you clashed with previously and have to watch your character make the same mistakes all over again for no reason. There is no option to learn from these mistakes, no option for growth, not even one to opt out. You follow the railroad, whether it makes sense or not. In the main game, the rails made sense. In Phantom Liberty, in many, many choices, there is a real choice missing which severely detracts from the narrative. In other words, while the DLC is superb in terms of performance and gameplay, in terms of story it very much is not. You make exactly one choice in the entire narrative. And that is simply not enough, compared to the myriad of small consequences your actions have in the main game. Phantom Liberty is the inverse of CP 2077's launch, and as a result, just as flawed: Great gameplay, few bugs, sub-par story.
