worth the wait
i have been waiting just like all the rest. first of all, i think that giving any game a score, be it a scale of 1 to 100 or 1 to 5 stars is foolish. it casts off all nuance. i do not want people to look at the score i gave and assume that is the whole story. but at the same time i want my evaluation to be brief. i personally like the game, but i did NOT have SKY HIGH HYPE like the rest of the world had. story? friggin excellent. acting and performance? top notch. gameplay mechanic? good. a sci-fi take on similar mechanics found in The Witcher 3. controls? meh. could be revised or you could reassign buttons but i have not tried. this might be easier with a Xbox Accesibility controller if you have a disability, but otherwise i'm just going to assume that ability to map keys is on the way if not already there. glitches? yes. they existed on launch. but a game like this i kind of expected that. only once have i had to reload my save, and the type of glitch that caused it was simply assests not loading properly. i've seen a few T-poses and floaty objects. but these will be patched. no way they won't be. already had like 3 patches in the past 4 days? i have learned to have patience with these things. its not the end of the world, and i do not feel it invalidates my investment. i have confidence in CDPR. its gonna be fine. This game scratches my itch to live out a Blade Runner / Akira / Ghost in the Shell / Frankenstein / Johnny Nuemonic fantasy. for my intents and purposes, its a masterpiece. i say that in the understanding that no game is perfect. i want to be perfectly clear that i've seen MORE glitches in Batman Arkham Asylum then in this game. and that game is ages old and has had forever to get itself together.
