worth the wait

i have been waiting just like all the rest. first of all, i think that giving any game a score, be it a scale of 1 to 100 or 1 to 5 stars is foolish. it casts off all nuance. i do not want people to look at the score i gave and assume that is the whole story. but at the same time i want my evaluation to be brief. i personally like the game, but i did NOT have SKY HIGH HYPE like the rest of the world had. story? friggin excellent. acting and performance? top notch. gameplay mechanic? good. a sci-fi take on similar mechanics found in The Witcher 3. controls? meh. could be revised or you could reassign buttons but i have not tried. this might be easier with a Xbox Accesibility controller if you have a disability, but otherwise i'm just going to assume that ability to map keys is on the way if not already there. glitches? yes. they existed on launch. but a game like this i kind of expected that. only once have i had to reload my save, and the type of glitch that caused it was simply assests not loading properly. i've seen a few T-poses and floaty objects. but these will be patched. no way they won't be. already had like 3 patches in the past 4 days? i have learned to have patience with these things. its not the end of the world, and i do not feel it invalidates my investment. i have confidence in CDPR. its gonna be fine. This game scratches my itch to live out a Blade Runner / Akira / Ghost in the Shell / Frankenstein / Johnny Nuemonic fantasy. for my intents and purposes, its a masterpiece. i say that in the understanding that no game is perfect. i want to be perfectly clear that i've seen MORE glitches in Batman Arkham Asylum then in this game. and that game is ages old and has had forever to get itself together.

Great Game!!!!

All these bad reviews I am reading, shame. I haven't had any crashes on my PC at all. I can't comment about the keyboard handling, as I use an Xbox One controller to play the game(as it should be with games like this). I had a couple delayed voice to graphics in a couple of conversations, but nothing major. I played for 15 hours straight on release with not one interuption. If the game is unplayable for you then sorry, sux for you..... I think it is fucking amazing!

Well Worth The Wait!

This game can be a bit intensive and resource-hungry, but boy is it good. The graphics are great (I strongly recommend using DLSS if it is available to you) and the storytelling is amazing. CDPR did an amazing job creating a unique environment in Night City and it's bound to keep you busy for quite some time! There are still some bugs in this game. It's massive and deep, so some bugs are to be expected. That being said, I have not encountered a bug that was gamebreaking. Most of them have been funny, such as floating objects or characters sliding across the floor without moving their feet. All in all, it has been a fantastic experience through the first 20 hours!

Needs quality of life touches

I am having a very enjoyable experience with Cyberpunk 2077. Many people are upset and I can see why. I am just fortunate enough to not have had to deal with major game breaking bugs. My only issue is the lack of quality of life in the game. This was advertised as an RPG. I like to immerse myself into games like these and I have been having a blast immersing myself into Cyberpunk, however I have had a couple of issues which are rather simple and wish were implemented into the game. 1. No toggle for run/walk? I hatre having to run everywhere or only push my joystick a tiny inch to get a good walking speed. 2. We can't just simply go to the bar and take a shot? We do it in almost every cutscene at a bar but we can't simply do it on our own? 3. Braindances that are collectible are basically useless. Would be neat to be able to go back to the apartment kick back with a drink and watch some VR. 4. Everyone phases through each other. It's like the AI isn't even really there, you can literally just walk through them. That really kills immersion. 5. AI feel like they are irrelevant, not a part of the world. An RPG is supposed to make you feel like the world continues on without you. AI are very bland and don't give the world that special push. 6. We can't sit anywhere. All these seats in places with great views but we can't sit in them. That would be a great addition a long with the new photo mode. 7. There is so much explicent content, yet we can't enjoy it? Would be nice for drugs to implemented, have affects and disadvantages. Maybe even an addiction system similar to Fallout? I have more but those are the key QoL I can name off the top of my head. Overalll this game is a great FPS but lacks A LOT of RPG elements into it that would just make the game feel very much alive. Thank you for your time.

Fun game overall, but...

OK, to start with, I feel like the game world is presented fantastically, love the attention to detail and the general feel. Short of the initial bugs, which will likely be sorted reasonably quickly, I had no major issues completing the main story, and a bunch of side content. Anyway, to Pros and Cons: Pros: 1. Great plot, initially... 2. Really enjoyable characters to interact with, I doubt I met every possible character on my playthrough, but the characters I did meet, I enjoyed, whether it was hating the character for what they do/did, or loving the character for the same, there wasn't much in the way of blandness. 3. Fun and non-restrictive gameplay in regards to how you develop V's perks, regardless of playstyle, it looks like almost every mission can be done in a multitude of ways. 4. Fantastic world building, the world of Cyberpunk feels alive and bustling on the surface, but it's dirty, gritty, and generally nasty, with few places of actual respite, and you can feel that with almost every interaction. Cons: 1. The plot, while it starts great, it feels out of place in a game that tries to encourage exploration. After Act 1's story setup, I felt immediately rushed by the story to complete it, and ignore a lot of side-content, much to my own dismay. I truly hoped for a more open, "non-urgent", experience. 2. As mentioned by others, V's origin reflects very little in regards to how V behaves, beyond the very occasional dialogue choices. 3. Quite a few bugs, I didn't encounter anything game breaking, but I did have to reload a few times in various areas to be able to progress some quests due to things like an NPC falling into the floor and being uninteractable, etc., etc. Neutral: Gunplay is a bit so-so, I didn't dislike it, but I didn't feel like it was amazing either. Kinda wish there was more hairstyles, they're good, but more, please? (with less shaved sections)
