High tech, low life. Buggy but enjoyable
I pre-ordered this game few hours before it's release, although I've been following the game for like a year ago. The wait is finally over. So, how's it going to be? To explain this game in terms of other games (and as short as possible): It's open world like GTA (but unlike GTA), with first-person only perspective, a little bit of Watch Dogs: Legion style of hacking (DISCLAIMER: I haven't play WD:L yet), RPG system like that of Fallout (except their dialogue system, Fallout 4 dialogue system is terrible), and a dystopian future of... well, cyberpunk (like many other stories in that genre). For my personal experience, I wasn't disappointed that much, since I didn't have high expectation for this game. But I actually enjoyed this game. Maybe I didn't have that sky-high standards for video games. As of writing, this review, I've spent 50 hours into this game, and that's all that matters. The game's pretty amazing, if you ignored all the bugs and criticisms out there. And what disappoints me are not the software bugs. Rather, it's the gameplay design that let me down. Sure, the crafting system is quite broken. You gain more from salvaging a certain item than to craft it. Crafting somehow permanently bloats your save file up to the point your save gets corrupted (8MB size limit). And crafting requires you to hold down the craft button for a full second (just to craft ONE item), so bulk crafting takes ages to complete. But in the end, I'm still able to drive around the map in a car, I'm still able to quickhack my enemies to death, I'm still able to grind for levels through NCPD's auto-generated requests, and I'm still able to hoard items as much as I want! Yay! If you're interested in this game, just look some of video playthroughs in the Internet. See it for yourself on how will you like the game. ...Maybe they'll fix those bugs real soon. Hopefully. But for me, the game's still enjoyable as is right now.
