High tech, low life. Buggy but enjoyable

I pre-ordered this game few hours before it's release, although I've been following the game for like a year ago. The wait is finally over. So, how's it going to be? To explain this game in terms of other games (and as short as possible): It's open world like GTA (but unlike GTA), with first-person only perspective, a little bit of Watch Dogs: Legion style of hacking (DISCLAIMER: I haven't play WD:L yet), RPG system like that of Fallout (except their dialogue system, Fallout 4 dialogue system is terrible), and a dystopian future of... well, cyberpunk (like many other stories in that genre). For my personal experience, I wasn't disappointed that much, since I didn't have high expectation for this game. But I actually enjoyed this game. Maybe I didn't have that sky-high standards for video games. As of writing, this review, I've spent 50 hours into this game, and that's all that matters. The game's pretty amazing, if you ignored all the bugs and criticisms out there. And what disappoints me are not the software bugs. Rather, it's the gameplay design that let me down. Sure, the crafting system is quite broken. You gain more from salvaging a certain item than to craft it. Crafting somehow permanently bloats your save file up to the point your save gets corrupted (8MB size limit). And crafting requires you to hold down the craft button for a full second (just to craft ONE item), so bulk crafting takes ages to complete. But in the end, I'm still able to drive around the map in a car, I'm still able to quickhack my enemies to death, I'm still able to grind for levels through NCPD's auto-generated requests, and I'm still able to hoard items as much as I want! Yay! If you're interested in this game, just look some of video playthroughs in the Internet. See it for yourself on how will you like the game. ...Maybe they'll fix those bugs real soon. Hopefully. But for me, the game's still enjoyable as is right now.

Excellent storytelling

Storytelling, dialogue, music and atmosphere are the major strong points of Cyberpunk 2077. Night City looks beautiful for the most part, especially at night, and for the first 20 hours of so my first playthough I didn't feel like using vehicles at all. I took my time to take in the views, get distracted by gang shooutouts and pick up side quests and activities. I should say a bit more about the dialogue and storytelling. It's superbly written, and I was really quite emotionally invested in the story. There are a lot of great characters, and the dialogue really makes them come alive. I've seen a lot of a criticism online about the endings, but personally I think such criticism is not warranted, and the endings fit the choices you make. Combat is pretty good, but the game is not a straightforward shooter; if, at low level, you wander into a high-level area of the city, you can expect to get crushed. Combat wasn't very challenging except for a couple of difficulty spikes, even on Hard difficulty. I suppose I'll have another playthrough in a year or so on Very Hard. Some systems feel unfinished; for example, NCPD: they magically appear nearby if you harm innocent civilians, but they never give chase. If you break line of sight with them, they're no threat at all. Another example: traffic does not know how to path around abandoned vehicles. I experienced a lot of minor bugs, the worst of which forced me to save, exit the game, and reload on occasion. I didn't experience a single crash, though. I encountered some amusing animation / physics bugs, such an NPC mime artist sitting on an invisible chair in the middle of a road, with another NPC using him as a chair. All in all, despite the bugs, Cyberpunk 2077 is a memorable experience, even if it does not quite live up to the stratospheric levels of hype, and I can't wait for some kind of expansion that hopefully continue's V's story.

It isn`t more than early access

A forced and rushed release left a crippled story driven tech-demo full of bugs and imersion killers. Wait until they fix the game and deliver what was advertised and promised before you buy. Nothing more to say (or this would be ending in a long and angry rant).

More "modern" RPG

I like RPG games, but after years, Im fullfilled of fantasy worlds of RPG´s, so gem´s like Elex and this game are scarce. I play this game on old i5-4670, 16 Gb RAM and RX 570 8 Gb and dont have any problem (high settings on Full HD). Average FPS 30 is OK for me, I dont need hundred FPS - graphic is not so important for me. So for me: GOOD: -really good main story -oh yes, no sword´s and bow´s only and no dragons or other creatures :-) -nice graphic and sound -acceptable RPG mechanics -loot, ou yes, so much loot.. -story of the world, if you read everythings.. BAD: -not very clever AI -the world is nice, but empty outside the quest´s - NPC dont have any visible life, any activities very generic -no reason for explore the world, only questing -player decision have very small impact on the story So I enjoy the game, but I´m affraid, that there is not much reasons for play this game after the end again.

A Huge Disappointment!...

Bugs, glitches, exploits and bad performance might be fixed in the future. Thing is, even after that, I don’t think Cyberpunk 2077 would be a good game. Its inhabitants, story and main characters lack depth. I felt like playing another meaningless, soulless and empty grinding game, like for example “Assassin's Creed Origins.” I expected more from CDPR, from the creators of Withcer 3.
