FPS rendition of previous CDPR games

Not kidding; The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 share a lot of mechanics, but have very different game-design philosophies. The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 have vastly different mechanics (3rd person swords VS 1st person shotter), but share the same line of thought when it comes to gameplay design (interaction with the world and the NPCs, mission structure, depth of mechanics and so on). This is not to say that CP77 is a re-skin of TW3, not even close, but to say that this is a step forward- but in the same direction. A particularly noticble improvment is mission design, however, is how RPG mechanics come into play where you can brute-force through a door, hack the lock, bribe the guard, convince the man inside to just let you in, find a key to the back door or find a secret entrance from the sewer. Bottom line, it's a fun, beautiful and immersive game with a surprising amount of CRPG mechanics. Highly recommended.

Great game but could be improved...

I have only played 10 hours and the game is quite good in terms of history, high level of customization and a spectacular technical and art section. The optimization can improve a lot, I play it in medium quality with some things in High with the GTX 1080 Ti on my 1440p monitor and I have to use the rendering resolution at 80% to keep the framerate above 60, thankfully thanks to the sharpening from Nvidia, I can achieve a good image quality with a low quality loss being only a 27 screen, but it is not optimal. The key binding is also horrible, it is impossible to use the action keys (ASWD) to select dialogs, forced to use the arrow keys which is extremely uncomfortable, as well as several interface options. Hopefully in future patches these problems will improve, because the game is excellent and one of the best in the last time, but it has those things that at least on day one, prevent it from being the great game that it should be.

Not very engaging so far

First off, the graphics are fine for me, but where the game loses 2 stars are frustrating combat mechanics, odd PC controls, slow story, technical bugs, and a mixed bag of smaller, but mostly ignorable concerns. I’m still fairly early into the game, but was honestly expecting a much better introduction. I judge a game by two major factors: 1. How much I want to play a game when I’m not playing 2. How much I want to continue playing a game when I am playing I voluntarily quit out of Cyberpunk a couple times already to do something else instead. Even now, I don’t feel compelled to play, which is odd seeing as though I was looking forward to this game since it was announced. My expectations were tempered with the multiple delays (never a good sign btw), but currently the game isn’t even living up to my lowered expectations. I’ll update the review as I go along, but right now I would not recommend the game.

Amazing game, just a bit broken!

CD Projekt Red has managed to create yet another brilliant world to engage players in, one that is immersive and chalk full of life, just a bit broken. PROS: * Immersive open world * Great combat + rewarding stealth mechanics * Atmospheric environment (music, setting, sound effects etc) * Engaging RPG elements * Incredible characters + writing (I cannot stress this enough) * Top notch music (I do wish there was more 80s synthwave tracks but its legit good) * Ease of (given!) controls (see CONs for a bit of detail) * Superb performance * Tons of stuff to see and do in the world * a world with cultures that feels alive And now, onto the CONs. * Lack of keybinding rebinding support * Lack of some common graphic/system settings (toggle for ADS, disable head bobbing, etc etc) * No quest cycle * Weird double tap dash * Massive desync of objects, NPCs, items and buildings * Quest issues: including order problems, quest locks such as a quest telling you to do something you already did and simple quests not activating. * Massive amount of bugs: anywhere from graphical, to sound, to key reaction to even models. Nothing seems game breaking/save breaking, but it can be quite annoying. * Character creator is far more limited than you might expect * Performance related "BUGS". Stuttering, cinematic 20fps etc Overall the game is amazing, but it does have its issues. I remember when Witcher 3 first launched, it was a technical mess, but look at what we got out of it at the end. Yes, it is frustrating to buy a game and experience these issues, but I trust the developers to have them sorted quickly to make it a truly "perfect" experience. I will edit this review as patches come out and the more I play the game, but right now I honestly recommend it if you can get around the bugs. If bugs trigger you something fierce though, give it until the end of the month! :) Rating: 4.5/5 (shit review word cap!)

Bugs and Glitches

Tons of glitches and bugs making the game basically unplayable so I suggest if you for some reason haven't gotten the game yet and were interested to just wait the coming months for hopeful fixes for the game.
