Its not a one or five star game.
Preface: I've only played for about five hours as I don't have much time til the new year, plus I want to wait for some updates to get through. With that said, the game looks good - real good. Not neccesarily from a realistic approach, but the game design and production is first class. Voice acting is good, the male V voice is a bit hit or miss personally. Female V voice actor is much more nuanced. The character creation is basically Mass Effect character creator 2.0 - nothing special but gets the job done. Much the same with the rpg elements, nothing great but nothing bad. The city, and the world in general is great. The gameplay is solid, not special, just gets the job done. My only problem is with pacing of the story, the game really just tries to shove you through the intial stages as quickly as possible and it left me trying to remember a hell of a lot of mechanics, tips and icon meanings. Once that is done, you get a montage that feels totally out of place and just rushes you to the opening of act 1. Where once again, rather than exploring, you get calls, messages etc from a bunch of people and it kind of feels "Activision RPG" in that regard. Something I really don't like. There's just no breathing room in the first few hours. As I said I've just played a few hours, but it does leave me wanting more, but at the same time I was hoping for a more well paced, balanced introduction to the game.

It's better than people are saying
TL;DR - Give the game a try. Ignore the day 1 reviews because each patch brings us closer to perfection and those reviews are outdated. Don't compare it to games produced by other companies - compare it to the witcher 3 and you'll see how they've improved and you'll see legitimate critiques that should be fixed. Sure, there are bugs. My game has crashed a couple times. No one likes that - and at first I was upset at the lack of keybinds for inventory/map/character etc because they were unchangable but this has been fixed in the most recent patch and I love it! I say give this game a chance and ignore the negative comments posted day 1 and play it for yourself (maybe hold off on consoles though for the time being but you're reading this on GOG so not an issue). I've had more fun playing this game than I did the witcher and that is saying a LOT because I love the witcher series. This is what I don't get: I paid $60 to play Doom Eternal and got 25 hours out of it, had a great time and hung it up. Thought that was money well spent. I pay the same amount for this game and currently have 104 hours in it and don't even feel like I'm ready to finish it, I have entire parts of the city still mostly unexplored. I've had fun the entire time and thought this amount of content for $60 was an AMAZING deal. - I think people are upset because they set their own expectations too high and felt entitled to a game that fits the narrative they spun for themselves. In dunkey's words: "You are nitpicking and biased". I am upset, but not at CDPR. I'm upset at people bombing this game to be a part of the bandwagon. There is cause for legitimate concern for some, but the game is quality and I'll stand by that. People are comparing CDPR to companies with way more resources, manpower, and entirely different engines. This is not fair to the devs who worked incredibly hard to bring us this game. Just chill and stare at Panam's booty ffs. Plot: 10/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Graphics: 10/10

I enjoyed my experience
Reviewer Summary 1. Played 100 hours. 2. Completed the main campaign. 3. Completed large number of side quests. There were still many side quests and gigs I decided not to complete as I was looking for closure at this point. Pros 1. Graphics are amazing with a good PC. 2. The game world is beautiful and teaming with ambience. Busy streets contain lots of high quality pedestrians, vagrants, advertisements, buskers, police scenes, gangs ruffing people up, slums and trash laying about, high-rises, city food carts, music, people talking, etc. 3. The characters you come across have fascinating backgrounds that make you want to you learn more about them, their lives, where they're going, how things will pan out. 4. Combat/gameplay is OK, but becomes increasingly easy and boring (see cons). 5. If you're a movie and game connoisseur, you will be pleasantly surprised at the number of references in the game. Cons 1. While I enjoyed the various characters and story arcs, overall it felt incomplete. There should have been more development with your story paths and the characters you bond with to feel like you're part of something real. On some occasions I felt disconnected with the story and character development. 2. Some side activities are repetitive and lack purpose. 3. The game is not balanced. Player levelling and power scales exponentially. You'll reach a point of god-like status and combat becomes boringly easy. 4. Skill levelling is slow and not in sync with story progression. 5. Crafting is incomplete and cumbersome (ie: RNG). Final There are few games that hold a special place with me. The emotion, the characters, the detail, the experience, the presentation, the music. Most of this game comes together to create a memorable single player experience. It's not perfect and it has its flaws, though not as many as the net would have you believe. Overall I'm happy to have experienced the Cyberpunk 2077 universe and I would recommend the game to others.

A broken mess
This software is broken. As of the most recent patch (1.05), several inputs are still hard-coded. If you are left-handed or have particular input configuration needs, you will likely have a difficult time with this software. It's sad that a "AAA" developer can't produce software that follows basic accessibility conventions. The game plays like an old GTA. There's well-made cutscenes with great voice acting, however game systems are relatively basic. The driving is crude, the npc AI is a joke, the gunplay is average, and there is only one hacking minigame. I would give CDPR several months to patch things up to standard and add promised features, before considering a purchase.
