I’ve been enjoying cyberpunk 2077 but it still feels a bit incomplete it’s missing a bunch of stuff I think is standard in a game like this here are some examples
-Ways to customise character after initial character creation( hair, tattoos things like that)
-Ai for police so they actually give chase
-A way to customise vehicles even if just changing their colour
Those are just a few things that make me feel that the game is kinda incomplete
The only thing that is really good is the graphics, amount of detail and lightning is just amazing. It really is visually well desinged game.
Other than that theres not much else that would make game worth the purchase.
Starting with gameplay mechanics - shooting is mediocre, hacking is just plain boring and stealth is too easy but still takes long and there is no point (reward) for doing it.
Driving is abysmal (awful controling and AI makes it a pain), it takes ages to get anywhere and its the main way to get around. Also the navigation on minimap is impossible to follow as it doesn't zoom out. Map itself is so cluttered and unreadable its useless. Fast traveling points are not named so I just guessed most of the time. Verticality may be nice idea but its not really "gamer friendly" (elevators tahe forever).
Crafting has no point, progression is so fast, its way better to just equipe random weapon you find thats higher level. Invenotry is thus useless as its just cyling loot-sell. And the same goes for skill tree, if I'd never open it, I'd never notice any difference.
But the real problem, the reason why I bought this game, is the story and its chracters. The story is predictable. its chliche and it doesn't venture into any real problematic topics. It doesn't portray the world as absurd or really anything. It barley addresses it at all. It shows no though life, struggles, its hollow. And same goes for characters that have no depth at all. I don't care about anyone. And V, I "made" the character thus I'd expect some freedom in the path he takes, the morals he has. But I don't get that freedom and I have no idea why he'd have some of his opinios and it feels forced.
Also side misisons go in the same bin as main story and the world has no interesting side activites. Its empty. Also shops are useless. Oh and also phone is the worst. Bugs weren't that bad imo.
TLDR; Graphics are great, but story doesn't deliver (not even close) and gameplay is (below) average.
I put 50 hrs at the time of writing this review, and planning on putting in a few dozens more.
Pro: great graphics, fantastic voice acting, memorable music, characteristic NPCs. And I love the details in those cars. Both the main storyline and side quests were interesting. Spent a lot of the time reading shards. Gameplay is fun at this stage, and I'm mostly satisfied with the quality of side quests.
Con: Lifepath choice has no impact on the main story. Choices in the game is mostly irrelevant to the ending one gets. The feeling of having a lot of the content, maybe 50%, either cut or intentionally misled me to believe there'd be is disappointing.
I look forward to see how the game would be giving it another year or two. At the current state, I'd call the PC version a 7.5/10 game.
I actually was really enjoying this game despite its various bugs, controls and issues, graphics are breathtaking, combat is a lot better than I expected, voice acting is top notch and side missions are to the high standard set by the Witcher 3 however, the ending... Without spoiling it, it was just not satisfying, I had the 'good' ending and well lets just say my excitement and desire to play a second playthrough has withered and died. I've seen the other endings on other sites to see if maybe it was just the ending I had that was disappointing but nope. CDPR really emphasized that the replayability would make up for its short main story however, If those endings are what this all leads to then really there is no reason for me to play a second time. Such a shame as I've really enjoyed the game until this. I think I'm going to have to wait for the expansion packs and hope they can change this as right now, I'm in no rush to revisit Night City.
The game looks nice feels ok but it lacks content in my opinion.
The world feels devoid of interaction there are lots of npc's around but you can talk to none.
it's also limited in romance for each body type just 2 romance option and the joy toys. only just 2?
Story was over way too fast and side quests were really cut and paste. with onlly 5 to 6 quests that had real chains quests those being the quets that can lead to romance.
And why allow to buy adult toys if they dont appear in inventory and cant use them?
Things I would suggest to add is more npc characters in the world to talk to.
selling and buying cars in one or a few places, but atleast not show them as quests.
and a third person mode in mellee combat with cool animations. like you do with the car.
And lastly reflections of V don't show in windows while other npc's do this breaks imersion
atleast try to add refections of V unless it's a bug.
Speaking of bugs please fix them had a few mostly minor ones on my end, but still distracting.
