Terrible

TLDR: do not buy this game, I can't even beat the tutorial because it's bugged. There's a fleet of other issues too. This game needed another 2-3 years of development. As it stands, the game has a solid base to build off of but everything else sucks/does not work. The number of bugs in this game is astounding (PC). I've only played the game for 1-2 hours (can't continue because the tutorial is bugged) so far and have already noticed a host of issues. 1. Can't beat the tutorial, The Heist mission is bugged, even after the 1.05 hotfix when they claimed it was fixed. 2. Characters don't spawn/despawn during missions, there was a follower that never despawned after a mission and just followed me around doing nothing. 3. Whenever there is a shoot out, all the nearby npcs just duck and cover their heads, and stay stuck there, no exception. 4. Some items can't be picked up despite it being shown as an item. Right at the start of the game there are items that are stuck in the ground. Outside of the bugs, there's a host of other problems with the game. 1. Driving sucks. The cars feel too light and the minimap is too zoomed in so there's no way to figure out where to go. 2. There's no variability in weapons, everything can be determined via a dps check, the higher the better. 3. The enemy AI sucks. You could walk up to them and they wouldn't notice sometimes, while other times they'd notice you from very far away. The NPCs don't feel alive either, they all do very similar things. 4. The game is horribly optimized. For there to be this many issues with such a small amount of playtime, this game should not have been released in this state at all. Its current rating is way too high for what this game provides. I regret purchasing this.

Utterly disappointed

Looking at the surface of CP2077 the game is gorgeous, it's probably some of (if not the best) graphics I've ever seen. That's about where the positives end for me. The biggest sticking point for most people with this game is the bugs and the performance issues and I can't lie, it's very disappointing. But even when you have a stroke of good luck with the game it's not what it was meant out to be. If you can scratch beneath the thick layer of bugs, jank and performance issues you'll start to realise that the game isn't all that special at all. It's just another generic open world game with 'choices' that don't seem to amount to much. The driving is serviceable, the combat is nothing to write home about, the customisation is pretty barebones, the AI is non-existent, choices don't make a difference, the story itself is fairly lacklustre and the RPG elements aren't as deep as you would think otherwise. The saying "wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle" comes to mind. As I'm writing this now, I would probably even consider it a subpar "open world action game" as they are now coining it. The amount of content that was cut from this game is astounding, just look for yourself. I would argue it's not even the same game that was shown to us a few years back. And I understand, sometimes things gets cut for design decisions or something turns out it's actually a useless feature but with the amount of things cut here and all the other issues with this game it's evident they cut corners. Also, a radio host in game says something eluding to Johnny Silverhand dying last year. That means he died in 2076. In game though, Johnny died 2023... This game must have changed course to accommodate Keanu Reeves. Why CDPR?! This is another hyped up game that promised so much and failed to deliver due to time constraints and executive decisions. Shame on you, you know who you are. I feel for the devs who worked tirelessly on this. 2/5

Overall

game felt like half complete. its suppose came out as a complete game. upcoming DLC too slow and campaign felt nothing and not much memorable moments. They made city to looks alive but the truth is the city dead from the inside. common interaction with NPC. pffft major dissapointment. fallout 76 so much better than this and im ashamed how low this game is.

Great story, gamplay lacking.

I really enjoyed the main story and it's obvious a lot of heart went into it, but I feel like the life path you choose should have a greater impact on the story and the world aroud you, not just some extra dialog options and a new starting point. Some of the items in the game world feel pointless like the thousands of vending machines and vehicles with no real incentive to buy or use them, lack of customization and I feel like the gun attachments could have been explored deeper or even the ability to paint them, another missed oppurtinity is the lack of cyberware. This is supposed to be an RPG, it would be nice to be able to purchase apartments and customize them and edit / modify your characters appearance after character creation, side quests can be bland at times. This being a cyberpunk game I have to say it was a big dissapointment not having flying cars, would be pretty awesome to see Night City from the sky. The game is very detailed, but yet lacks detail. Overall it still feels incomplete. That said, I have to say this is my favorite game in recent years and the story kept me engaged. I'd hope to see some of the things if not all that I mentioned above implemented with future updates, and I'm hoping for some big DLC.

Needs Stability Improvement

Ok, so even though I have not "beaten" the game. The game/story so far is good and fairly fun to play. With that being said, there are some mechanical issues that need to be taken of and/or fixed to really enjoy this game. My main gripe is with the stability of this game. I have quite a beast of a machine and yet I am suffering from crashes and huge frame rate drops. I have messed with the settings and it does not really matter if it is on max or min settings, still suffers. Although lower settings see a slight improvement but still has dips. At launch, I didn't get these isses too much, but sometime after your "fix it patch" I get at least 1-2 crashes when I am playing, it is very frustrating when it happens. I know there are several other bugs/glitches that I have experienced. Like vehicles in the floor, animations being weird, npc teleporting, issues with looting items from places, stealth knock outs acting very oddly and enemies being able to see me through walls when they shouldn't. The list can on for a bit, but my main issue is with stability. Frame Rate and Crashes need to be fixed ASAP, with at least that, I could enjoy the game far far more. The other stuff still needs to get fixed but with time it will have to be. I gave this 3/5stars out of respect from playing your previous games and the enjoyment I have got from Cyberpunk 2077 so far, but if this were any other game from any other developer, it would be 1/5 stars or 0. I specifically pre-ordered/bought this game from GoG to support you guys 100%. I could have bought this from steam with constant steam cash I have on-hand but chose to do it here. So please, CDPR, do right by your loyal customer base and fix this.
