The biggest disappointment of 2020
For something marketed as an immersive experience, it does little to make you feel as if you're part of Night City. Here are just a few of the things off the top of my head that I found disappointing: - First and foremost is my main pet peeve: - Perks are badly/incorrectly worded. (I have a big gripe with this one as I had wasted so much time planning out my build only to find that the perks do not work as intended. ) E.g. I took a couple perks from the Annihilation skill tree that I thought would work with weapons outside of the Annihilation tree weapons (i.e. shotguns, light machineguns, heavy machineguns) only to find out that they do not. I assumed that the perks I took would work with other weapons because the descriptions did not specify that they must be used with specific weapons unlike other perk descriptions that specify that it only works with particular weapons. Now I've allotted several points into Body only to find out that it's worthless and of course there's no way to reset your attributes. - You can't eat and/or drink in food stalls or bars except for a few scripted moments in quests. - Generic NPCs you talk to all give the same redundant lines that just completely break immersion. Just terrible (TERRIBLE) AI . - NPC cars just stop when you leave your car in the middle of the road. - Poor inventory system. Honestly no one touches the food consumables in their inventory. Just get rid of it and replace it with actual interactable stalls. It takes so long to go through your backpack to look for one single thing. - You cannot reset attribute points. (it's an RPG for crying out loud!) This is in no way a complete list of the issues in this game. Yes, bugs can be fixed but the gameplay itself and how you interact with the world is downright disappointing in terms of immersion, especially compared to other games that provide better immersion such as Red Dead Redemption 2. You can't blame this on bugs, this is just poor system implementation.
