Great at first but too little variety

Way too little content for a game we waited so long for. Was done after 60 hours of which I spent 30+ in free roam. Not enough space to write my full review so a list has to do: + Immersive story at first + Amazing visuals + Keanu Reeves 1. Character customization is pretty much non-existent. Once you create your character, its done, you can't change anything about it. Hair, make-up, plastic surgery etc. Nothing. For a game about style and being yourself this is pathetic. GTA 5 has more options to what you can do with your character and thats 7 years old. Or Saints Row 3 with 9 years 2. Clothing is limited to the good gear. It's not possible to have the best gear while looking like you want to. Unless you like dressing like a 5 year old that just randomly picked clothes. Yes you can upgrade clothes but not to the point where they match the BiS ones. So its the choice between looking good or being strong. 3. The driving is horrible. I didnt expect racing games experience but this is beyond bad. Cars oversteer like crazy, literally brake one second after you press brake, air-time is turned up crazy and so much more. Driving with a bike in the desert is like driving on small trampolines (I'm not kidding) I dont even know what to compare it to. 4. Crafting (if you go with that skilltree) is badly designed Theres no way to bulk/auto/max craft items. So for every one you have to hold for 0.8 seconds, same with dismantling. Want to increase your crafting progress by crafting 1000 of an item? Spend the next 800 seconds (if you perfectly time it) pressing your mouse while looking at the screen. 5. Want to free roam the city like they want you to? Enjoy having a marker for your story on the map for the entire time. Cant un-track any missions so there will always be one on your map. 6. Want to try a different build? See a melee build with a katana you want to try out? Too bad. You'll have to start a completely new game or download a save from someone. No space for more ne

Rushed, early release wait for discount

you can see a lot of love has been put into this game. It's amazing in many aspects, but I feel that it's rushed and some poor corpo decision making ruined the experience. City is great, I wish I could enter more places, most of the time everything is closed. But I understand, it’s not humanly possible to hand craft so many rooms, shops and buildings. The main story is OK. Side missions and even the Gigs is where the game shines. The main story just keeps rushing and pushing you to the conclusion. It's too short for my liking and sometimes the decisions are illusory. It feels some freedom to make decisions is missing to call it a true RPG. Some NPCs in main story are awesome, but the main story left me unfulfilled, and also you have to load back to point of no return save to continue after finishing the main story. Police AI is non-existent. A ton of bugs. I keep pressing F5 all the time in case I need to reload the game because of some bugs. The bugs are constantly taking me out of immersion. I'm mostly disappointed. The most fun I have is just trying to role play the game without doing the main storyline. It's not always possible because you're locked in an area until you finish some main storyline missions. It's just ... great idea but feels like EA or Bethesda released it not CDPR. Typical triple A live service approach. Release now, fix later (or not)... It’s not worth the money now. It's a 5/10 for me. I would pick it up at half price in 10 months when they actually finish the game.

The City of Bugs

It saddens me to have to give this game a review poorer than I had hoped and anticipated but in fairness, they left me no choice. I will point out some pros and cons and let you decide for yourself where this game is worth getting right now, or you'd rather wait for CDProjekt to finish it. (not fix, truly finish) CDProjekt made a beautiful game, for it is stunning not just fidelity but the sheer artistic set pieces are jaw-dropping at times. From the simple things as beautifully thematic bridges rich with details to gawk at to rides, you're going to want to steal immediately. Even on the lowest settings, this game looks, beautiful. The characters as one can and should expect from these developers are fun, rich, and have a depth to them that makes you want to know more about them. The writing is good, like really good. In some instances, your actions have unforeseen consequences which they should foreshadow better but in all the writing is solid, fun and whimsical. You will get attached, as you did in the Witcher games. I hope they carry that over into perhaps a trilogy or simply more material for us to bond with these or other characters over years, not just a single game. The combat is surprisingly good, you have many options and it's not nearly as clunky as I expected since the Witcher didn't have great combat, it was overly simplistic, and it was a whole different genre of it. They did well, you are unlikely to get bored of it any time soon. That's all I will say about the pros, and I don't wish to spoil the story or any events or even features you might encounter. I will only talk globally about these things. Now I do have to address why this game is not a five star, something I would have loved to give them and the game. It's a mess... There's no other way to put it. It's unrealistically buggy and it breaks immersion because of it, some are silly, some are breaking. But I have hopes they fix that. It misses features, a lot. It doesn't run well.

Amazing game but...

First off I want to say how much I am enjoying the game but it has its flaws for sure. Some of the bugs are not really an issue but other are game breaking... I have been stuck in walls after a heavy melee attack sent me flying into them and the police are broken and will spawn next to you in a room with one door. The game will lock up and will seeming be frozen until I enter the options menu, this also will fix your weapon texture not loading and/or sound issues where your weapon fires but no sounds. When you look into a mirror with head gear on you will be bald. Sometimes you will get launched into the air for no reason while funny it can get irritating. Weird texture loading issues where characters look like GTA models from PS1. Lastly the crashes... Most of the time when it crashed on me is when I have cleared an area for a mission and then I have to do it all over again because of a crash. There are still many other bugs but those are the big ones that come to mind. Overall I love this game and I hope they fix it because I am disappointed with the game as it is now... Please CDPR make this right and deliver the game that we all know you can. Thank you.

Feature Incomplete and Bug Ridden

You've probably heard all about the bugs by now. My biggest problem with the game is that it is incomplete in many regards. Lots of discussed and promised features are either lacking or wholly absent. AI drivers have literally 0 autonomy, they follow a line. If you block it, they just sit there and wait. Look away, and CD Project Red programme them to literally just dissapear. The same thing happens if you scare NPCs (similarly without intelligent AI). V's dialogue lines are worse than Fallout 4's sole survivor. In other words, you won't even feel like roleplaying is very possible. Also, choices are incredibly lackluster. You won't see much that comes anywhere close to the worst of The Witcher 3. But then again, CD Project Red's real problem isn't shoddy craftsmanship, it's the crunch culture that led to most of The Witcher 3's developers to burn out and leave the company. The same crunch culture led to creating this incomplete bug ridden mess. The only real solution would be a change in management.
