I wouldn't recommend it post 2.0.

I've been playing Cyberpunk off and on since about a year after it released. Things had been largely ironed out and most of the problems, aside from balance at the higher end, had been fixed. Then came version 1.6x which broke the Sandevastan acceleration overlay for me making it a flickering unusable mess. Well, that was annoying but one could just change one's play style and get over it - because they never fixed that. Then came 2.x and what they promised is... not what I consider delivered. Now there's a miniboss around every corner for no logical reason except it's supposed to make the game harder. Annoying. NCPD now will actively attack you even if you're trying to help them out in the various gun fights across the city or following up on the various NCPD scanner hustles if they see you draw a weapon or attack someone. The damning thing about this is you can't tell if this is NCPD going from being utterly useless as in pre 2.0, buggy behavior, or if they've become actively malicious in supporting the gangs. Extra annoying. Then there's the vehicle mechanics. Pre 2.0 they were nothing to write home about but you could at least get by. The motorcycle was by far the easiest way to get anywhere. Now, they supposedly made the vehicles heavier and easier to steer according to the notes... yet I swear they're near uncontrollable at this point, swerving all over the road ways at the smallest twitch of the controller, and that's the vehicles that were already in the game. The new ones with weapons seem to be worse, and their weapons are pretty useless. Get into a gunfight with the NCPD? Fun a couple of times... but after that the novelty wears off, the near uncontrollable vehicles become something you want to actively avoid. Stick to Jackie's Arch or another motorcycle and avoid the mechanics. Verdict? Avoid buying just the base game at this point unless you have access to 1.5 or 1.6 content. It's an exercise in frustration rather than fun.

Still a drag to play

This game truly hates player agency for an RPG, the first bit of the game, you see Night city off in the distance and think, oh boy it's going to be so awesome to roll into Night city from this desert, and... oh wait, you don't get to do that? When you first enter NC? Ah yes, you're treated to bypassing all of it in a cutscene, then more cutscenes of you meeting various NPCs and doing different jobs, which would have been far more interesting to do than the actual game. Oh well, at least now that I'm in Night City and I can drive around and see some... Wait, whats that? You're a passenger only, for like the first 30 minutes of the game? And also locked into following Jackie around? Well ok, odd choice, but you're the boss. Also driving in this game still sucks majorly, I would rather run everywhere than have to deal with the janky cars and their movement, be prepared to run into alot of other cars (which even the slightest bump makes the law aggro to you)speaking of movement, this game's movement is awful as the player, even with tweaking the settings it just plain old sucks, Gunplay is not smooth for something I would consider a "shooter", a weapon I picked up in one of the early missions just vanished from my hands after a cutscene, never to be seen again, some menus you have to hold a button to get out of, some you dont, some menu exit buttons are different, also who assigns the "B" keyboard button to lower and raise your weapon? and using TAB as your scanner is getting so old when I go to look at the inventory and push TAB, like almost every other game in existence. After a certain part where V is shot, they could have made a whole side quest to track down the guy that shot you and get a little personal revenge but what do you get instead? Oh another cutscene of someone else doing it. The story sucks and has 0 bearing on what happens to V, meaning her fate is sealed no matter what she does, why even play the game at that point if nothing I do matters? Lazy.

Broken

This has the potential to be an amazing game. Needs about another year of dev time (with no crunch this time) to actually be ready for release. Plays like an early beta. Continuous crashes, then even though you haven't changed anything, will run. Menus stop working randomly. Visual bugs like notifications remaining on screen. Even had bugged out subtitles despite subtitles being switched off. Sorry to the developers who worked hard on this. It isn't your fault.

Overhyped Mess

CP2077 is just an average game in its current state. I don't enjoy games as I once did. I thought CP2077 would be the "it" game that would return this enjoyment back and this backfired horribly.

Heartbroken....

I am a long time single player gamer and CDR supporter since the first Witcher came out. For C2077 I was waiting for a long long time, probably as everyone else but I am so disappointed about this game that I quit raged today and asked for refund from GOG and here's why. First of all I find the colours and graphics too shiny and "epileptic". It hurst when I look at it and driving a car is sometimes not possible due to sun rays gleaming at my eyes. The game is not user friendly. I consider myself an experienced gamer but it really is all too much for me at once. The mechanics as gunshots and targeting, especially when You use a controller, is so bad that I couldn't even take a good shot at somebody, so how can I win a gunfight? I use nVidia Shield with nVidia gamepad and it is an unbearable torture. Car handling is taken from some cheap 1$ racing simulator i believe. Then there is the Night City... I don't like the construction of it at all, it is too big for my liking. I loved the vastness of Witcher 3, RDR2 or Kingdom Come: Deliverance where You can wrap Your head around the locations but the Night City just gives me a headache and I don't feel the slightest urge to explore it and believe me, I always try to explore every single place to get all the findings and lore. At the end: the plot.... honestly I don't know the plot. I spent couple of hours doing some prologue and first act but the game is so annoying and not well thought of that I quit before I was even able to divie into it. To wrap it up, I am so upset, frustrated, disappointed and sad that the game I was hyped for is not playable for me. Maybe in the future, after the game has been updated I will consider giving it one more try, but as for now I just wait for my refund and look for something else to play. Shame on You CD Project, shame on You....
