The game was missing many features as shown in the teaser. The sheer amount of bugs and glitches is incomprehensible. I wish that I didn't pay full price for this game. CDPR as a company which claims to only produce the best quality makes this game look like a bad joke.
Got the game at release.
Has some interesting concepts.
The presentation of brain dance was on-point spectacular.
Got about a quarter of the game in and started running into over-leveled missions
and just dropped it. When will developers realize how stale the RPG mechanic is.
I know it's a fundamental aspect of the table top legacy.
I know adding "levels" and "HP" is a lot easier than programing a physics based system and
an AI that can handle operating in such a space, but at this point it's worth doing.
The Scaling Statistic beyond what can be explained by the phyical limitation of the
creature is beyond stale. it's tiresome.
Even if you have to scale down half the other features in the game, drop the bullet sponging,
drop the ad infinitum increments of the same weapon or item + 1 mind numbing geeks stat, and focus on physics and real difficulty.
Stealth is almost not an option. At random times character stands up for no reason. Happened far too many times in the middle of my trying to sneak by a whole lot of enemies.
Some of the loot can't be picked up.
AI is abysmal.
Driving is poor. Vehicles slide around as if on ice.
You can't just go off to do side jobs. If you try to do that, so you can level up a bit and get some more equipment, you'll start dying by instakills. Have to do a bit of the main story and then some side jobs. Rinse and repeat. You are flooded by side jobs and gigs, but can't do any of them until you do a bunch of main missions. What's the point of throwing them at me if I can't do them until a certain point in the story?
I am a fool for believing some of the "A year later" reviews that claim that a lot of things have been fixed.
The game is a right off.
The game is so fundamentally broken, they can't fix it even if they try.
Back then I pre-ordered it and completed a playthrough without major bugs.
But imho I'm quite disgusted by CDPR. I should've refund it when I had the chance.
They must have known it is nothing remotely close to what they said all those years.
I still remember when I first notice police spawn right behind me, like wtf. This make no sense whatsoever. Any self-respecting developers would not allow this to happen. But here we are, years later CDPR still can't fix it, the best they can do is spawn a little further.
And the Jackie bug (suppose they fixed it nowadays) which he had a gun pull out from his head! That's so noticeable in very early part of the story. It was all over the internet many people also got the same bug. Like really, does QA team even exist?
Then the lifepaths makes no real different. There is no side activities in the world other than missions. There is literally nothing to do after the main story ended.
Also, traffic are fake. Car chase are scripted. No AI could really drive a car. Pedestrian only have limit set of reactions. There is no random encounter, enemy always just waiting at places. Water physic is non-existent. etc.
Seriously, every open-world games since GTA3 have already done these basic features and plus more advance stuffs.
I can't imagine how they convince themselves this is ok and to called it "next-gen" open-world. When it's really just all pretty with no substance.
CDPR is so overconfident, yet so incompetent.
People say it was management fault to rush it out. But really it doesn't matter how many more delay, they simply don't have the skillset to create a proper open-world game.
CDPR not only over promise, they can't even deliver on basic features.
got it on sale, played thrgouth the main story in about 20 hours. while it started quite interesting the resolution to the story was underwhelming. to explore the city more i planned on doing sidequests after the main story, however, the game kept crashing multiple times in a row because the quest menu was bugged or something. i don't have time for this and called the further exploration off. i regret spending any money on it.
