Murdering Aurore was the last straw!

No amount of QoL patches will ever make this game what was promised or could have been. The atmosphere in Night City feels more like GTA:2077 than Cyberpunk, and is unimmersive throughout. There will never be fleshed out "roles" besides solo and "netrunner" (which is less netrunner and more spellcaster), and lifepaths are a joke. V will never be an interesting character, nor will it ever be possible to roleplay a unique V or personalize V's relationship with most characters/factions in any depth. Dialogue choices rarely provide satisfying variety in personality or opinions. The game rarely (if ever) accounts for or responds to V's beliefs, and V rarely expresses a belief beyond oafish comments for the likes of Silverhand to springboard off of. V's only concrete goal is survival, he has no fleshed out thematic conflicts. V is so boring that his presence often feels like an obstacle to the plot. Core game mechanics are shallow. The factions are largely indistinguishable in combat, with few enemy types. The factions/gangs lack any sort of relationship mechanic. Character customization is disappointing, lacking cybernetics that even nameless npcs use, like robotic arms and legs. Without mods, creating outfits is painfully limited too. The main quests are very short, and far too many main quests are nothing more than touching base with a character to recieve exposition. Most quests are so short that most of time it takes to complete them is spent travelling out of your way to find them, only to then have an unmemorable fight or chat. Additionally, the game tries hard to sell itself as shades of grey (more like shades of black), but many quests do this in a contrived manner, where compex, underexplored moral dilemmas are reduced to a forced binary choice thirty seconds after they're introduced to the player. The game remains a trite, shallow experience masquerading as a thoughtful, emotional one.

Good...but dissapointing at heart

Good story so far but performance is a mess. Really blurry in general, you better play with a controller because with keyboard and mouse there is a lot of input lag and mouse acceleration.

It's good now, ever since 2023

We all know how the original 2020 release was rough for PC, and a complete disaster for PS4 and Xbox One. Crashes, freezes, bugs everywhere. But that was in the past, CDPR made a lot of fixes (and spent a lot of extra money to make sure it's getting better). They're fixing it with patches and giving us FREE content with every new version. Most other publishers would charge for and extra skin or cars or minor quests, here you just pay for the base game or the expansion. Ever since around late 2021, it changed a lot. The 2023 expansion Phantom Liberty made it what it is today. Tons of patches, improvements from CDPR made this game a much better product. Now I think it's worth it, even at full price. I got it ever since 2020 and managed to complete it twice with a 3rd run on the way for every life path. The game is an open world fps looter-shooter first (with a great story) and rpg second. Some decisions only matter late game and the worl is not as reactive as the 2018 trailer suggested. Still, the game is fun. Great music, graphics and lots of character builds to chose from. You can also mod it with tons of cool stuff. The game would be great with Witcher 3 level modding tools/Redkit for Cyberpunk. Maybe they'll add it here as well. I find myself return to this game just to roam around Night City. Every quest done, it's just for fun. Some of the radio stations are not my style, but overall 80% of the music the game has is enjoyable for me. So overall I recommend this game a lot!

This is it.

At the beggining the thing that most annoyed me was the bad optimization, after updating drivers and lowering my resolution (which is the first game in years that I have to do this) the framerates somewhat stabilized. Now, yes, this game has a lot of bugs, and at the beggining I could bare with them, some random out of place inmmersion breaking bugs. BUT at some point they became gamebreaking, enemies could spot you and hack you through the walls wich makes the stealth and covering useless. And the final straw basically was that at some point of the main story my character got stuck in a floor because the only way to get out was getting a key from an npc wich fell to his death traspassing the floor making looting him impossible, so yes, at this point I gave up to this game. I am very dissapointed.

Needs more time,

Runs pretty bad, unless you have an absolute monster of a PC you are likely to be disappointed in the performance you get. Noticed visual and audio glitches as soon as I started playing, keybindings are also lacking I can see the game becoming something great, like Fallout New Vegas, give it at least a few more months, and maybe even up to a year. Next time CDProject just focus on the PC version and when that has been polished to a sheen, then start looking into the console version, because as bad as the PC version is, the console version is much much worse. Don't spread yourself so thin next time, and get your priorities in order
