Major disappointment

Graphically, the game is stunning and CDPR have done a great job of creating a city. That's where the praise ends. Character creation is incredibly limited for such a contemporary game. There are MMOs with much richer character creation than CP2077 offered. This is a massive let down! -1 Star The story is actually really good. Insanely good and like CDPR's marketing campaign, the promise at the start is palpable. However, then they throw the classic sense of urgency at you. In the Witcher III, we were given a mission but there was no hurry, so we were given a legitimate chance to explore the world and experience the wonderful side quests on offer. CP2077 makes you feel as though you're supposed to rush through to the end or else... stupid. -1 Star Glitches Galore. So many times main characters just got into my car... while I was driving at 200km/h... A lot of other glitches but there are forums describing these so I need not. I've played enough Bethesda games to appreciate bugs are a thing but CDPR always say "when it's ready" and this clearly was not. -1 Star Graphically, the world was amazing. Rich and varied and the places all seemed to make sense. I loved driving through NC with raytracing on and watching the skyscrapers glisten off my car. +1 star A large portionof the game is spent driving... ugh wow. -1 Star Conclusion: I could never ever recommend this game. This also from someone desperate to love it. Shame it didn't work out.

A better FarCry game, not more

- no RPG (not even close to the witcher 3) - main-story on the quality level of Watchdogs - loot system = trash you don‘t need everywhere - bugs still not fixed, will take years I guess - AI and logic on a beta-game level - city and NPCs just decoration and useless - after finishing the main-story, have fun with 200 boring missions left

Mediocre shooter that failed to delvier.

Sadly Cyberpunk is NOTHING like what was promised. For ages we saw videos and interviews explaining all the amazing features that would be in the game. All the cool mechanics. All the new ideas that would make it stand out and unique. In the end, we got a bare bones open world shooter, that fails on almost every level. Character development is practically non-existent. There's stats and skills (which are mostly just passives) that can slightly improve your character in certain regards. However all the gameplay is still 100% reliant on PLAYER skill, not character skill. So if your FPS skills are good, you'll breeze through the game. You can have no stats or skills tied to using gun, grab a pistol and just slaughter your way with ease. The weapon system is poor. There's a variety of guns, which mostly all do the same thing, and have wildly randomized stats. So you might have two versions of the same pistol with one doing three times the damage as the other. So getting good gear is entirely luck based. And the horrific crafting system doesn't help with that. The gear you craft is just as random, so you might waste a lot of materials trying to make something that's not garbage. The AI is non-existent. In combat, enemies mostly either stand in the open shooting (when they don't ignore you completely) or duck behind cover and just sit there. No flanking, no tactics, just target dummies. NPC's on the street are bland and lifeless, and usually just sqaut in place if a shot goes off (and disappear if you turn your back). The vehicle AI is also just not there. Cars follow set paths on the road, they won't swerve or avoid obstacles, they'll just stop and sit there forever. They also disappear when you turn away. The "open world" is dead and lifeless. No minigames or distractions like every other open world. Just a thousand "go here, kill/stealth guards, take/hack X" missions, repeated endlessly. Basically none of what was promised was delivered. Don't waste your money.

I did not expect this from CDPR

I don't care much about the bugs because they can be fixed later on after the game has been released. And afaik, none of the bugs are actually game breaking. So, I can accept that the game was rushed and there are a lot of bugs. What I can't accept is the fact that the story is lackluster at best. Just when I thought the story was getting interesting... it ended abruptly. Wtf? Here I was expecting a game similar to The Witcher 3 in terms of the content (story, characters, dialogue, quests, monster equivalent etc.) and what I got was not even 25% of that. And to top it all off, some of the side quests end abruptly (like the Peralez quest line). Let's compare. Witcher 3 has in total 200+ quests out of which 57 are main story quests. This game has around 50 quests IN TOTAL. The reason players loved Witcher 3 so much is not because of the graphics, not because of the gameplay, not because of the sandbox environment created by the game, not because of the mechanics etc. The one and only reason people still play The Witcher 3 today is to experience the story and side quests. The Witcher 3's story and side quests are long, very long. But that's what separated CDPR from the rest. The Witcher 3 is so massive that if you have played it once, you can literally forget 95% of the quests and play it fresh from memory a few years later on. They created this huge dense map which is honestly one of the best city maps if not the best city map in any game ever. But they themselves didn't utilize this map to its fullest. Around 50% of the map is not explored by any quest ever. So what's the appeal of playing it other than playing the quest then? One can only explore and be awed by a map so much. If I had to break it down where their funds went, it would be: 50% for the map, 20% for the mechanics, story and overall content and 30% for marketing. I am not even kidding. This might actually be correct. Its such a shame. I will never look at CDPR the same way again.

The AI is more A than I

Currently I suggest waiting a year or so for them to actually REALLY finish the game. Unless you find the AI not being able to figure out how to follow you around a corner "Peak Gameplay". Good AI will save a game, bad AI will bury it in a pit of boredom. Currently they can't figure out how to shoot you when you're both in plain sight, can't figure out how to get in to melee range when using melee, can't figure out how to stop hiding in cover when you're basically clearly flanking them, can't seem to figure out that throwing a grenade at a wall infront of their face might be bad for their continued existence. Interesting game, but also needs probably another year of polish at the rate things seem to be going.
