Far from all expectations

The tl;dr: I’ve never had this much fun in a game I was so disappointed by. Cyberpunk 2077 turned out to not be the game I was expecting based on all the previews and other info provided before launch. The world is interesting on the surface, but don’t try to dig too deep or you’ll notice the substantial lack of substance to the world. Ultimately, that world, a world that felt alive and gave you the tools to make our own story, are conspicuously missing. There is fun to be had though; it’s as if many of the systems previewed didn’t have the time to be fleshed out, so were dropped and quickly covered up by something much simpler (and less interesting). Night City itself is impressive, and I enjoy just walking around and looking at it. The characters are also quite good, at least in the main quest line. It is very possible that, in a year or two, this game will be much different and more this review won’t still apply. For now though, a month after launch, it’s perfectly fine to wait and see what happens unless you just must see it now.

Average, even if it looks pretty.

Going in it COMPLETELY blind, I enjoyed it for what it is, but even then what it is felt somewhat empty or unfinished in places, up to the point where it did not feel like a game in a cyberpunk theme. On my system I did not experience many bugs, though performance was not acceptable but playable after a lot of tweaking. Getting that out of the way to point out that most of the issues I have with it are in terms of content, not whether that content broke or not. Every other step all I could think of was "eh that wasn't too bad but where's the rest?". - Many factions, each with their own goals and style, but barely more than just enemies with the only differene each being what they wear an what they say. - World interaction is 0. Sure it looks nice but you never feel like it's the city you live in. When unmodded Skyrim feels more involving than your game, you've done something wrong. - Combat's okay. Just okay. - Buying vehicles is pointless. - Character customization is teased to be really deep through what other NPCs are wearing, but several of their items are not playable. - Looks are supposedly important in the world, but you could be naked for all it matters and people would treat you the same. - No way to change your looks past the character creation. I can't even believe that was not included in this CYBERPUNK game. - Police, or lack of... - Crimes, or lack of... And the list goes on. Honestly, if the attention to detail to the passive world and the characters you actually get to limited interaction with were not there this would have been absolute trash. Facial animations are amazing, the writing when it feels like is amazing, unexpected comedic moments here and there just slapping you with momentary joy in an otherwise bland experience. From that point alone it does feel like a next-gen game, but only that. I think the best way to summarize it is that the suicide ending was somehow the most satisfying out of all of them. (Music's good)

QC wasnt not used, lotsa potential. :(

Good concepts shoddily put together, 6 months of beta testing woulda made a homerun, I havent seen a hyped up launch fall flat so hard since anthem. Maybe once they fix everything itll be great but right now, its got severe glitches, stops quest progression bc certain things wont spawn. items and cars are halfway in the ground, cops materialize in front of you and instantly kill you.

flawed game, a shallow ocean of bugs

somewhere in there there is a good game, but is not this in its current form a lot of bugs, stupid and/or overpowered AI, a story that barely takes into account any of your actions beyond extra dialog lines, infuriating combat glitches it's a shame, some of the characters have an interesting development, but it barely matters when it turns out you already reached the endgame

One Big Disappointment.

Everything that they told as was lie. So there is not much to say about this game only that they should change their game name to CyberBug 1977.
