I have been playing on a strong PC since the premiere. I go to Night City almost every day. I finished the story twice, now I just run around town, listen to and watch NPCs talking, drive Bandit and listen to music while admiring the views. I test different weapons and hacks on gangs. And above all, I am waiting for additional content.
I purchased the game and first played it in update version 1.31
I played over 80 hours now, completed the main quest line once.
I can say this plays great offline
I can say i've only had the game crash maybe 3 or 4 times in 80 hours
- The crashes I had appeared to be mostly due to certain dialogue transitions on certain quests.
The game runs very well on max settings (maybe with some shadow options turned down) at 4k resolution on my vega64 gpu / 3950x cpu / 64g 4ghz ram / m.2 ssd or 7200rpm hdd (did notice some slow texture fill like when you turn around but game does not lag out that i noticed with hdd, also there is even a game setting to toggle certain loading styles for people on hdd)
The game is quite modabble and I enjoy the fact that mods like CyberMod offer so much replay value. I can honestly say I would purchase again or purchase the official mod tools if they're ever released. IMO that is the only feature left that I could hope for, since imho 1.31 has little to no bugs and great storyline.
I thoroughly recommend this game in the current version of 1.31
While its launch may have been rocky, by the conclusion of the game and its narrative (version 1.31) this is truly one of the greatest video games ever made.
The gameplay, its interplay of mechanics and the world itself is sublime; Night City is a marvel to walk about and breathe its very atmosphere in. The narrative is inexorably gripping and entices throughout. I do wish, as a single entity, that the main story arc were a touch longer (as a side mission completionist this offset this to a degree), yet, despite this, it is engrossing and more so, it is human and questioning and searching of our corporeal condition. A special note must be made of the writing in Cyberpunk (the wonders of the mechanics aside); I don't think any AAA RPG before has managed to imbue so much real pathos into characters as the writers and actors and all the talent behind Cyberpunk were able to into this title - there is a scene at Clouds which will remain etched in my memory forever, as much as any silver screen of the cinema could offer.
Beyond all this, it is the characters that are the driving force in this game, the relationships that you as V form with them and around them. Again, I do wish, in 120 hours of gameplay, that there was a bit more interaction with your relationship partner, but the arc (for the ending I obtained... 2nd time around) was perfect and I wouldn't change it for the world.
There were a few side quests that were a touch too repetitive, although they were in the minority; by and large, they were brilliant, and like 'Clouds', several of them will stick with me.
The omnipresence of Johnny was a masterstroke, and the lack of an overarching, moral judgement system was perfect; allowing the player, allowing V, to be the arbiter of this fused humanist ethics vibrantly and... questioningly - marvelous.
While the brilliance of Night City and its inhabitants may be found in failure from great intent; Cyberpunk 2077, as a title, is the zenith of greatness & intent.
After completing most of side quests, today I finished main story, several endings.
Claps and bows down to CDPR: Thank you.
I waited whole year after release, in the meantime got myself new GPU and enjoyed this beauty in its full glory.
Despite all the bugs and glitches and other controversy, I'm glad that I avoided popular hype train of lets-spit-on-this-game-no-matter-of-anything, and I decided to play it.
And I'm quite positive that if you love the genre you will enjoy it!
Only thing left is to finish remain gigs, and hope for good DLCs
