Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
I don't understand others complains about downloading issues and start up crashes.
These are technical issues with GOG Galaxy, not the game itself (unless your PC is crap or your overal setup is shit, no wonder you're having gameplay issues). Why rate the game if you have download problems? Thats plain dumb.
The game is a blast, its a 5 star for me.
Play it, disregard little bugs, which will eventually be removed with further patches. Enjoy years of development. It's a second coming, after Witcher 3!
PC version , played on 4years old laptop MSI with GF970MGTX and i7 , on high settings play very well
of curse game has a lot bugs and glitches ... but story and world is awesome ...
finished game on 1.04 / 1.06 .. 1.1-1.12 uninstalled .. performance dropped even on better laptop ( tested )
returnback to 1.06 which was almost stable verion and playable :) ...
I will start off saying I am a controller player. I experienced minimal bugs and glitches on launch. Here is my roleplay:
There's something about this city. It's dark, dirty, and no one seems to give a f**k. I walk into an asian inspired market and buy some synthetic meat. The plasticity meat is gummy but almost disintigrates in my mouth. I haven't showered in the past 24 hours. The implants don't quite fit right, my body nearly rejects them and there's an aching in my replacement bone. My shoes are nearly worn out but they pump, and the joygirls seem to like them. You see, I found this ride just sitting in an old shipping container. It's fast, really fast. I listen to the radio sometimes on my drive through Haywood, can't wait to delta the f**k outta there. People forget Johnny Silverhand, but I feel like I was there when the next big song from Samurai was scouted on a daily basis.
I spend most of my time driving, can't sleep, see. The city lights and the neon girls is where my heart is. I don't need to tell you what a night out on the town is like. No one ever remembers your name. But every once in a while, somewhere you'd never expect... those night city lights turn out to be the Night City life you've always been looking for.
And once in a very, very short while... You find someone worth spending it with.
(END)
I haven't beaten the game, and maybe never will (until NG+). GoG dared to be passionate about something, dared to ruin it for themselves but dared to give others an experience worth living for. I'm luckier than some who never got to play this game (which would be considered a masterpiece pre-2007). But for now I'll just drive, and f**k around. It's MY game, after all.
The beginning can get you disappointed.
Later on you see the potential.
I see it as RPG game with Guns dont excpect too much from FPS and you will be fine.
A lot was promised and thats the problem of this game...
I'd like to preface my this with a disclaimer that there are no spoilers in this review.
I was excited for this game when it was announced, but I didn't follow the marketing or promises super closely. When it came out, I saw a lot of negative reviews and a lot of complaining on the internet so I shied away. Decided to pick it up on sale now, like a year after release?
Overall, It's a lot of fun. Here are some things I like, with examples:
1. Small performative details that make the game feel more visceral. Characters rolling car windows up and down, or opening a sunroof. Giving the player options to sit or stand during conversations, and even to walk around freely without stoping the dialogue. The fascinatingly accurate sound of a man slapping his hands on a table, or crashing into the dirt from a staircase. The game letting me get in the drivers seat and the NPC asking me to scoot over when I'm supposed to be the passenger. These are a lot of details that could have easily been left out / avoided, but are there and are very cool.
2. Skill advancement ties into the story and dialogue - and with higher skill levels I was very pleased to find that my character started sounding like an expert, which was also very cool.
3. None of the voice acting has been bad or repetitive. We all probably know like the 8 voices from skyrim, there seems to be a crap ton of diversity in the acting in Cyberpunk.
4. Satisfying power ramp. I'm still on my first playthrough, but I found I started off having a hard time with many fights but over time I have started feeling suitably powerful and have been going up against harder challenges, rather than the same dudes scaled to my level.
5. FOV slider. AND ultrawide support. OMG.
I have run into bugs! It has not been a bug free experience, but it's only required a little bit of troubleshooting here and there. Like once in a 5 hour stretch. All easy to fix so far.
Oh and coming from Fallout 4, the story line is way more compelling.
