Cyberpunk 2077 is missing a lot of promised features. Broken AI, buggy and defitnitiely it is not RPG. It is run and gun game with mostly linear story.
Cyberpunk 2077 is probably the most overhyped game ever. CD Projekt Red made one amazing game, The Witcher 3 and since then they lived from the reputation they got from the game, without really living up to the reputation.
Now Cyberpunk was promised to be the game of the generation. NPCs would have a real day and night cycle, they would go to work, react to your decisions and overall it promised a world that was way beyond what we had since then in the open world genre.
Spoilers....nothing like that is in the final game. NPCs just walk in random directions, do senseless things and sometimes even walk through walls to disappear.
The police was supposed to be corrupt, that you could sometimes pay them to let you go and that a real wanted system would be in the game. Guess what? Nothing like that is in the final game. When you do a crime police just spawn in your general vicinity and start shooting. That´s it.
The life paths you choose at the start can be completed in 20 minutes, after that EVERYONE gets the same cutscene and you end up at the exact same place as everyone else. Dragon Age Origins did this better years ago.
Frankly the game is unfinished. The bugs are numerous, it´s Fallout 76 bad, sometimes even worse.
Add to that CD Projekt lying to their costumers about the state of the game on consoles, the crunch because of bad management, the insulting response after releasing the game unfinished and broken and you have a company that now is among the worst developers in the business. Never before has a company lost their reputation as fast as CD Projekt.
Maybe they will finish the game in a year or two and add all the promised features. But until then the game is really underwhelming even when it runs.
Let's start with the good:
-Who ever build this city should get an award. The whole world is amazing. City looks real and if you have always wanted to play a cyberpunk game with the most realistic world in it, this it the best you can get right now.
-Side quests: Best part of the game.
50/50 things:
Main story: It's half baked. You are in the mist of dying, only few weeks to live, tops. But same time you have all the time in the world to play sidequests and browze the world. This is not a role playing game. It's an FPS with adventure elements. You cannot choose that much storywise until you get to the last mission in the main storyline. After the main story, you will be returned to the latest save file. No end game options.
Things I did not like:
- Bugs and Glitches: They are everywhere even on PC. Latest version 1.06 has not changed them at all. You go an play a main quest. Items are missing in NPC's hands and V's hands, black bars appearing on screen for no reason, car flipping if driving too fast, getting stuck and dying for no reason, sounds missing. If I play 6h I see at least 10-20 bugs that kills the atmosphere the story is trying to build.
Oh and NPC cars driving through walls all over city.
- Enemy AI, NPC AI and NCPD AI should be done from scratch. Cars are frozen on bridges and road cause they cannot drive. Enemies have no sense of they're surroundings, Police spawn from nothing and are really stupid.
-2D cars in distance and disappearing when getting closer.
This game makes me miss the GTA experience, I think it's because I know it's possible to build a believable city as they have but this game feels rushed and an Early Access with it's features.
I hope CDPR can fix all these problems with future updates. If I was you I would wait until future updates for the best experience you could get from this game. I make sure I send every bug I see on the game so you can enjoy the next playthrough when you buy this game.
atm it is a buggy, unoptimized, unbalanced and shallow open-world, action-adventure. I really hope that they fix that game and add promised feature. this game could be so much more...
I had never played a game that crashed that often like CP2077 an I am playing PC games now for 25 years...
Currently I would best return this game if possible and play it in maybe a year, if it gets more mature.
Game it self is made wonderfoul with love to details, but it beside the main story line it geets a little too repetitive and boring.
A lot of potential her, if they will keeep working on the game for the future.
At this stage i can´t recommend this game based on my personal experiences with that lot of crahes.
