good game, despite the bugs

In the current state, this game seems to be an enjoyable game. I like the missions, I like the setting, I like the character development. What I don't like though are the bugs. This game has been delayed 3 times I think, because the devs explicitely wanted this game to be finished and polished and then proceed to publish this game in a bugged, unpolished state. Since this game has always been marketed as "released when it's ready" this seems like a d*ck move to me. If you forget everything you know through the marketing material of this game, it is despite of it's flaws quite enjoyable.

I love it with all my heart

I wasn't even that hyped for Cyberpunk, but I've been watching all Night City Wire episodes, following CDPR since The Witcher 3. I'm an art student and want to work in the gamedev industry sometime, so I'm into all technical things too, not only the plot of the game or the graphics. I'm giving this game 5/5, because I think it's about 4.5/5, but unfortunately GOG isn't allowing the 10 point scale and/or halves. For those curious about the PC specs, I'm playing it on an a-little-more-than-average rig: AMD Ryzen 2600x, RTX 2060 Super Gaming 8GB, 32GB RAM, SSD drive for the game of course. From the moment I've launched Cyberpunk for the first time on December 10th, 2020, I was in love. Of course, in the first day the game had some trouble with loading textures, but in my case it was barely occuring. I hadn't had a lot of bugs since the day I've played for the first time, and all of them were not serious enough to make the experience unpleasant. I'm really hoping they'll fix this game and bring some DLCs, as it's brilliant, the concept, the plot, the characters (it's an RPG after all), it's just unfinished. And I can see why, I mean this game is huge, it has so many mechanics, the content is unbelievably complex, and this game was supposed to be released in 2020, with COVID spreading around, making it hard to test the game properly, with the urge to release it for PS4 and XOne and so on. CDPR's management was too eager to release it as fast as possible, while the guys behind the game's dev itself worked their assess off to deliver the game we wanted. I salute all the people working on the game itself, on the quests, on city design, the story, the music (GOD! this game has one of the best soundtracks ever), this game is just so good to play (especially with the Xbox pad). It gave me joy I wanted to feel while playing it after the shitty 2020. Wanna buy it for the original price? I think it's worth it anyway. If not, just wait. But it is a good game.

I'd like to return there

Icwas never bored all the time I've played. Surely, I've noticed all that gitches, and open endings sukcs, but.. Thank you CDPR. Thank you for this world and this life that I've lived there. And I'm looking forward to return in NC again.

Power Story and Solid Gameplay

Writing this review now that I've completed the game, and now that many of the bugs are squashed (or at least more manageable). Put simply, this game has been the single-most emotional game I've ever played through. It was very easy for me to get into my character's head, and it was an emotional rollercoaster. The environment was easy to get into, the story is incredible. Gameplay doesn't get in the way, and most of the combat is fun. I'll say this, if you can't get in the character's head, your mileage may vary, since so much of my enjoyment of the game came from attachment to my character and the people she interacted with, specifically Evelyn, Judy, and the Aldecaldos. No bugs I ran into were truly gamebreaking, though, I laughed at a few times my character's clothing disappeared after certain scenes. Vehicle controls weren't great but were certainly better than some games I've played. Music, both radio and score, is amazing. Graphics are solid. Sound effects are good. I think there could have been more world immersion - so many empty buildings, very little to do outside of the missions themselves. I think it's clear that there was more -intended- to be there (braindances and the like), but it just didn't make it in. I'd love to see that sort of stuff get revisited. And... a little bit of a trigger warning - this game is dark, lot of stuff that can be triggering content, presented in a serious manner, in a -wide- variety of topics. It took a hell of a toll on me emotionally, but it was worth the ride.
