CDPR fell so far!

PC specs: GTX 1080, 6700K@4GHz, 16GB 3200MHz, SSD, Win10 Played v1.06. Refunded after 25hrs. For so many, CDPR had the MOST HYPED game, a great reputation coming from TW3’s success. They could have postponed the release until it was ready and was WHAT HAD BEEN ORIGINALLY PROMISED. It could have been the go to for cyberpunk escapism! What we got was more of a lazy dump than I could have imagined… a spewed out mess nothing like the original vision. Score breakdown, starting from 0 stars: +5) Great reason NOT to upgrade to a non-existent GPU. +0.5) Good atmosphere. +0.25 Some memorable characters. +0.15) Sound design is ok. +0.1) Good as a giant turd-sandwich example of how NOT to release an alpha. -1) NOT an RPG, despite a few RPG elements! -1) Story/ending done poorly. -0.5) Combat system is sub-par. 0) Driving physics are abysmal. -0.25) “Parkour” non-existent. -0.5) NPCs are unfinished. -0.25) Character creation is mostly meaningless. -0.5) City looks great, feels lifeless. 0) Story choices have little consequence. -0.5) Sexy time content is mostly missing & V’s apartment is very half-assèd (minus the “âss”). -0.5) Upgrade system is a chore & best stat gear ends up ugly. 0) Very unoptimized bugfest. 0) Tries hard to ride the celebrity train to stardom, despite an unlikeable Silverhand. 0) Bonus political agenda. 0) Shoulda been developed for PC first. 0) Hopefully mods will fix this game. This was a disaster from the start of release and an insult to gamers. Why such a good score on GoG? Apparently anything shiny keeps the sheeple wetting themselves. All the patches in the world won’t save this. It needs a rework of many systems in the game. If you know nothing of this game or the ex-hype surrounding it, played every game in your library and are a masochist (with a very beefy PC), get it on a good sale. Otherwise, if you’re not a complete downy and enjoy life, avoid it like leprosy! CDPR: Putting the “Gotcha, PUNK!” into “Cyberpunk”.

Game needs another year in development

Gameplaywise, it's witcher 3. Same gameplay style, lots of dialog lines, lots of quests, lots of cutscenes, ok horse riding = driving and kinda-feels-off-but-ok combat. Timed options in dialogues, bribes, abilities, etc, etc. Most buildings and NPCs are just for decoration, like it was in Withcer 3. So, basically, not much new. But! The world itself is new, and it's big, and it's as fun to explore, as it was in witcher 3. But on the technical state.... Oh boy. It's borderline scamming. When official system requirements SO FAR AWAY from reality, ti's a scam. Because you tricked people into buying a game by giving then false information about performance level they will achieve. And I don't even mention poor consoles. On top of that, there are graphical glitches, floating objects, unpickable items, stragne AI behavior, sound glitches and cut-outs. Some items don't even want to render on character model in inventory. UI is bad. Default keyboard controls are bad. Some essential things are absent: no in-game character customisation, you stuck with what you have choosen in the beginning. I feel like there where even bigger plans about world design, but they were cut off in the end. Well, that's not a bad thing. But game feels raw, very raw. It will probably be GOTY 2021, but right now in many aspects game feels like early access.

Not what was anunced

The game has several problems, not only bugs, looting system is boring, side quests are repetitive, city is dead, NPCs and cars don't have any AI just some paths. NPCs don't have any interesting dialog or options, stores are very basic. Crafting is very generic and not even worth, hacks are very basic and generic, perks are a joke like "3% more dmg". Enemies are just dmg sponges The game is even "cyberpunk" there are some basic ideas at the beginning of the game but then its just a generic futuristic scenario. There are some core problems of the game, I don't think it will be fixed in at least 2 years. The main history is interesting, but not enough to justify the game right now.

No words. But here are some

I had high hopes. Coming off of the success of the Witcher series, I expected this to be able to stand on its own. Waited almost 10 years to play this game. Saved up every penny I had to get it because times are hard due to covid-19. I chose the street kid path. Character customization ran fine. Started out in the bar finished talking with Pepe and went to walk around a bit. Not even 30 seconds later it crashes. I relaunced the game did the same thing, talked with the guy that sends you on your way to steal the car. Crashed during the conversation 5 times. Lowered my graphics settings from ultra to high, still crashed twice, went from 1440p to 1080 and lowered to medium. Ran up until the point where youre leaving the apartment after saving sandra. Got on the elevator to make the phone call and it crashed 4 times. No excuse. You guys lied to us and this cant be forgiven. I wont be playing witcher anymore either. Just complete done with this company as a whole. I'm running a 1080ti. Minimum requirement is a 1660ti I believe. My card crushes that thing. Have Windows 10 and a Ryzen 7 3700x. 9 case fans and plentyy airflow. Not sure what the hell is going on but idk if I wanna come back and try at a later date. This was shady and upsetting. I expected something like this from EA or Bethesda. But even Fallout 76 ran better than this. That's what they have to contend with and should be ashamed and disappointed in themselves to be compared to the likes of Fallout 76. This launch was worse. Should've delayed it another 10 years if it would've saved your reputation. But I don't see them coming back from this.

Tremendous potential, but half-baked

When playing through Cyberpunk 2077 you constantly feel as if you've just been given a Michelin starred meal that arrived half-eaten and with the occasional stray hair in every bite. You get a taste of excellence if you look in the right places and avoid looking too deep. Night city is such a detailed and wonderful setting that is completely underutilized. The city is dead, the NPCs are just scenery, the world does not react and does not feel alive, and that's a massive shame. The foundation is there, the main story and side missions are often times immaculate, but the majority of the mechanics in this game are either unfinished or mindlessly designed. Many promised features are missing, there is so much mindless padding, an endless sea of technical problems and bugs, design that cannibalises itself (like the overwhelming amount of map marker vomit, the constant phone calls about meaningless side jobs, etc), and so much unfinished content. CDPR have gone from hero to zero within a matter of days, their reputation is in shambles and they have lost my trust and the trust of a large chunk of their fanbase. It will take a long while to gain it back, and only a No Mans Sky type of effort will ensure this happens. I sincerely hope that will be the case because this game has the potential to be up there among The Witcher 3 as one of the best games ever made. Right now, however, I highly recommend you avoid it.
