600+ hrs in, here is what I think
Bugs: From the beginning, all I heard about were the bugs. Are there bugs? Yes. Are they game breaking? I have never encountered one. Please remember, this is a single player rpg - save your game. Run into an issue? Reload and keep going. (F5 is your friend) Last patch? Even fewer bugs, even better gameplay. Ever play Fallout? Any version? Way worse bugs there (I am a huge F4 fan btw). Character Development: Insane. This game really does let you pick if you're going to be a good guy, or a psycho killer. If your going to run it without killing anyone, if your going to run weapons free and just use your quickhacks. So may ways to play. So may styles to play even within those divisions. Am I a knife guy? A pistol guy? Shotguns only? Bare hands? I have a ton of hours and I have still not tried them all. Outside of the main story (which is linear) you have an unbelievable array of choices that truly make your character yours while you are traveling the arc. Graphics: Unreal. Gripes: The POV while driving has a constant reset that I have not been able to mod out or make stop. It's crazy annoying and can make you fail quests in certain parts of the game if you really let it get to you. Some of the dialog is just there to carry you through the story with no real options other than to just skip through it (like just about every other game I have ever played in this genre). The game has an end. Surprise! Because the game has an end, there is also an end to the actual content - like quests and jobs, etc. In a way I appreciate this - there is nothing worse than infinite procedurally generated quests. But sometimes you just want your fixer to call you up with a random job... and at a certain point, that stops. TLDR: Easily one of my favorite games. 100% worth the price of admission, definitely got my money's worth, can't wait to get the expansion.
