I play with a 1 year old MSI laptop with RTX 2060, I don't mess around with the settings as they automatically set it to high/medium but I'm not complaining, I don't really care about graphics that much as long as it's bearable, and so far it even exceeds my expectation in that department. I haven't played much but the only glitch I encountered was an npc T-posing but it's more funny than annoying. Content wise, it's been engaging so far. I might be biased since I really like cyberpunk as a genre and for a respectable developer to build it in a beautiful AAA treatment is more than enough to satisfy me. Yes, I know it's almost unplayable for a lot of people, but I really hope they do deliver major patches along the way and I have faith.
Owning a pretty powerful PC gives you a very good experience with Cyberpunk. I am enjoying it a little more with every play session. It looks great and has amazing character interaction. Combat is basic but passible. Sound and music is spot on and I am getting a good solid frame rate with everything on high .
I have to admit to becoming totally immersed in V's story.
I can see this game being forgiven for the terrible launch when it finally becomes stable and optimized
The one big con besides some bugs is not being able to customize some keys. This has been very inconvenient, and should not happen with a AAA title costing £50. The game loses a star for their laziness in this regard.
Cyberpunk 2077 or how to lure 7.9 million Rockstar fans into playing a Looking Glass game.
Despite the raunchy aproach to it's aesthetics and all that lame oversexualized "adultish" themes (that rub me in the worst possible way), this one is the most ambitious immersive sim ever made. It takes it's DNA from the greatest games you've possibly never played, those who give players agency in their aproach the action and story.
So don't listen to bad reviews focusing in the superficial aspects of the game. This is a beast of a game. Players has been feeding FOR AGES by so many GTA and Far Cry clones that their brains has been screwed so many times that turned into grate cheese. So this is my advice to all this rabid Rockstar boys: stop moaning about whatever doesn't fit your gameplay, this game won't adapt to your basic standards, this is not a GTA, this is NOT the utlimate sociopath simulator sandbox. Please take the time to learn how to play, try all the posibilities the designer's offering to you and embrace your OWN playstyle; when you do, you'll nod in satisfaction because this is the greatest aproach to level design I've seen in an open world.
Behold and incline, chummers!
Dont jump on the bandwagon. This game is amazing.
Yes, there are bugs and some performance issues. But it's to be expected, from a product of this scale. I had to spend a good hour tweaking the graphics, but now I've found the sweetspot. My tip: If you have a modern Nvidia card, use DLSS ("Qualitiy" or "Balanced")! Look up some settings guides on Youtube.
Aside from the technical aspect, this game shines even in its current state! It's a world you WANT to spend time in. The story and writing is top notch. Gameplay is fun. I don't regret my preorder.
Also it's only going to get better from now on, assuming that CDPR will manage to solve the problems.
PS: To all the devs, working on this behemoth. Thank you for your work.
This is a subjective, highly personal review that ignores almost every technical aspect of the game and just focuses on the story, characters and the world. These are crafted to perfection and make the faults the game may have irellevant (again - for me, personally).
With every work of fiction a story works within a certain set of limits. The most limited, set in reality either now or in the past can be incredible works of art. But whenever the writer/s decide to expand those limits, like with magic in the Withcher, they have to make damn sure to really use everything that expansion offers them - otherwise the story feels unsatisfying, short of what you expect when you start it. In Cyberpunk that is expanded to incredible limits and used to it's full potential.
Many tried exploring dual personalities but none reach the way it's done with V and Johnny, their relationship affecting their character and the world around them. The world, set in an already established lore feels incredibly authentic, extremely rare are ocassions where something that happens does not fit in it or is not explained fully.
Do not skip the side missions. The main story and the side storylines integrate so well that you would rob yourself of an incredible experience. The game demands from you an investment of time, yes. And if you rush it I belive you will still get a great tale, but one that absolutely pales in comparison to the one you get when you put time in both. The main and side content put together are greater than the sum of their value.
My writing skills don't allow me to say what I really want here in 2000 characters. I am deeply thankfull to the people who made it as I have never enjoyed any peice of art more than this before. An emotional connection I made to it and the characters almost feels wrong, like I'm not supposed to connect that much with something thats not "real". Nevertheless, I have. To me, the the game is a thing of beauty that will never fade away.
