I've been waiting for this for 8 years. Now I'm deep in the Night City and I am ejoying every second of it. It has many glitches and cars ride like boats in a storm but still... I'm loving it. It's gonna get only better with time and patches. Thanks CDPR!
the actual content of this game is really good but its hard to play it when your car phases through a wall every 12 minutes at 30fps on a build leauges above the recomended. great story, great gameplay, and lots of fun but the performance really holds it
when it all gets patched to be less-buggy and better optimized it will be another A+ game
Even though there are a few problems and bugs, this game keeps me addicted. The atmosphere and the sound are just insane. So far I haven't had any bugs that have affected the story. I haven't had any crashes or other game breaking bugs.
The smoke clouds and lights flicker from time to time and sometimes seem choppy. Sometimes small objects float in the air. Probably easy to fix.
The only thing that has given me major problems so far is picking up items. The UI should probably be improved a bit. Sometimes it's just not possible to pick something up.
Completed game almost a week ago and can say that it isn't bad as some people will tell you. Story is good, sometimes even better then good but not great. Most of side quests are boring but there few that funny and interesting or even on Witcher 3 level. Game really needs more of them.
Graphics are very good, Night City is very well made you can walk around and just admire design of streets.
Sound goes from good to not very. Voice acting is good, but other sounds (like when you running) can break.
Gameplay is decent enough, but not that great: there is many cut or useless mechanics. "Cool" is a dumb stat, you don't even need it, stealth doesn't work as intended, enemies will lose you from their line of sight and stop searching very quickly unless their behavior is scripted by quest. Remote hacking is broken as hell: I'm sad that you don't need monowire for hacking enemies. you can just sit in 200 feet away and kill enemies without beign caught. You don't need hide from cameras if you can hack them from long distance and make it you ally. Or just turn it off. It very sucks that idea of distance hacking with mono-wire was cut from release. Gunplay is very weird and compared to melee combat it's the best you can choose. Melee weapons broken due some passive skills, but you will die quickly if there is group of enemies. Hand-to-hand combat is clunky. You don't need to evade or parry (you can't even properly do it), Beat on the Brat questline proves how useless and hard hand-to-hand combat is when your opponent just with their one combo can deplete your health bar in TWO hits WHILE YOUR'S CHARGED PUNCHES WITH GORILLA HANDS WILL TAKE ONLY 1% OF ENEMY'S HP! Fix this, please.
Double jump is useless most of the time, you can get on oof os many buildings but there is nothing to find.
Vehicle controls are janky, only bikes and few cars have decent handling.
City traffic set on rails and wont go around your car even if it stays on border. Also if will always knock you down.
Like many RPG's you have to pick what your character looks like and its skills before you even play the game, which takes time, and it feels slow. Then the start of the game runs at a gentle pace, so it feels like a really sluggish start and not like the trailers.
The main draw of the game is the atmosphere, the dialogue, and the story. It really is well done on those aspects, some of the best ever in games. Once you get past the tutorial sections the game gets going, and gun combat was good once I disabled auto-aim features, why that is on by default I don't know. The AI has some problems I'd love to see fixed in a patch as they aren't particularly smart, like most games, though it is still good enough to have a blast.
If they can get some of the bugs and glitches under control with patches, it'll be a fantastic game. When compared to the Witcher 3, you jumped straight in as Geralt, and you got going. This is an RPG where you define your V, so that takes a lot longer to get into it, they should have had more default characters to select from and an auto-level up path for those that are less interested in the traditional RPG elements.
