Although this game a little buggy at least from my experience, the game itself as still very enjoyable. The game itself. I am a Witcher fan that has been waiting for this game for 5 years, I had high expectations and the game met my expectatitons. Not including the 1 or 2 bugs and glitches I have encountered, this game is excellent. I admit that I was a little dissapointed that I heard that the story is only 20hrs. But now I understand that it is meant to be that way, for flexability and also to allow for insane replay value. (Much more replay value than the witcher 3 from a content perspective. Remember The Witcher 3 was also very rocky at launch but it became one of the best games of all time. Im sure down the line Cyberpunk 2077 will also earn that title, im looking foward to it.
Firstly, this is not a bad game. In fact, I would have given it 5 stars if not for the performance & minor control issues. In fact, I felt quite bad to not give this game a perfect rating. I wanted to.
Night City & world design is absolutely perfect. It eclipses you, it devours you whole. You always feel like another person on their job, trying to make a name for yourself. You see the high parts of megacorporations and millionaries, and on the other, beggars and homeless people sleeping by piles of trash. It is an unforgiving city, but also a rewarding place to live.
The gameplay is also varied enough for your playstyle. I play as a netrunner-stealth-sharpshooter with a specialization in hacking. In try to avoid noise, scanning the environment before striking and taking them off one-by-one. But there's also room for those who want to go full solo & gunner. You have a varied set of weapons - shotguns, AR, revolvers, snipers for that. Or blade weapons.
Your job is to build your name in night city. There are jobs everywhere you can take - either that from your fixer or law enforcement. There are crimes happening all over the place. You are free to take those out as you wish. And you get good rewards & reputation for that sweet sweet level.
However, not everything is right. One of the core problems I have is performance. On my 1070+7600k overclocked, I get framerates lower than expected. Other also complained about this issue too. I believe CDPR will improve the performance somewhat.
Apart from that,
- Character creator could use more work. I feel like I have much more fine control in Dragon Age: Inquisition (or even Mass Effect) for my character than Cyberpunk's one. A facecode system like in Mass Effect 2/3 would also be nice
- No option for alternate keymaps.
- Chromatic Abbreation, motion blur, other effects aren't implemented properly form what I heard. But I believe CDPR will fix this.
Basically, Cyberpunk 2077 is a mix of Watch Dogs, Witcher and Dishonored
my expeerince 25 hours in has been really great. ive only had a few bugs none that ruined it complelty except for one. sometimes answering a call the person stays there after they finish talking and im forced to load a save.
sometimes the game will look stunning then go into ps2 era randomly.
loadtimes sometimes take longer than usual ( i have a beef system thats running on ultra so i know its not me)
enemies sometimes wont die so im forced to restart for stealth.
enemies are too accurate. i could be blocks away and somehow behind a car i get one shot.
the game will outright freeze and ill have no control as my car just continues driving to then crash and somehow managge to blow up.
the controls are kinda iffy. you cant change them and i dont like the keyboard and mouse controls so i use a controller but even still it feels weird.
cars sometimes feel like you are driving through mud , and other times like you are on ice.
im sure with time it will get better but honestly. i would say wait for another patch or 2. but if you really want the game now go for it. i can say with confidence that my experince has been amazing thus far
I've spent over 8 hours playing the game so far and I must say that is has been a pleasing experience in terms of a great gameplay, immersive story, and impressive audio-visuals.
I'm playing on GTX 1660, so without fancy ray-tracing effects, on a rather mediocre hardware, but I've been able to run the game on "High" presets and even "Ultra" in closed spaces.
I've also noticed so far only two bugs - one involving the NPC "moving" a dead body at the beginning of the game, and a levitating cigarette. Apart from that, no crashes, no frame drops.
As such, I highly recommend to try the game on your own instead of relying on bad accounts. Seriously, this is a phenomenal game - and with all the upcoming patches it will surely deserve 5/5 stars.
One note - the GOG version supports Xbox controllers only. I've used external software in order to play on my Switch Pro controller, but you might want to get the Xbox one for the full experience.
Since it has been announced I've regularly been checking news about this game. As a huge fan of the Witcher games I was very hopeful to see CDPR deliver another amazing game. I was hoping Cyberpunk 2077 will live up to the hype. And in my opinion it absolutely did.
The story so far is amazing. Story writing is on a next level and the characters feel like real people. Even NPCs from side quests are authentic and feel real. I have not played through the whole game yet and will take my time for the first playthrough, to really experience Night City.
What I love most about it so far are the characters and the overall feeling of the game. Night City is huge and in every corner new stuff can be found. There are so many details.
The sidequests are fun and tbh they sometimes feel as if they are part of the main questline. They integrate perfectly into the world and main story and it feels so natural.
The fact that you can randomly call people and text people is an amazing function and makes the whole world feel even more realistic.
The only "negative" thing I can say are some visual bugs and some audio bugs I have experienced. In my personal experience the bugs haven't been too disturbing and are to be expected in such a huge release.
An example of bugs I have seen would be an NPC who sleeps in the air. Or an audio effect repeating a bit too often. Other than that I have not at all had the experience some other players have had. The bugs in my opinion are present, but minor and will probably be fixed by CDPR really soon.
In summary: An amazing game with some minor visual/audio bugs with AMAZING characters, really awesome stories and an absolutely amazing city that really feels very real.
