I dont know why so many people have such a hard time with this game.
Running a GTX 1660 and I can play on ultra in 2.5K. No crashed.
Story so far is just amazing and the world has so many details I dont know where to start.
I will update this review later but wanted to do it now because so many whiny kids are ruining this game review...
I know that many are not experiencing the game in all its glory, but running on an i7 7700 with RTX 3080 the game is absolutely gorgeous. A few framerate issues in populated areas and a couple of crashes to desktop, but absolutely nothing that has affected my enjoyment. So far, I am loving this game and as a huge fan of the Cyberpunk genre, in many ways this is the game I always hoped for.
I'm not sure what people were expecting, but the game is pretty much exactly what I expected - Witcher-style RPG with a great story, interesting characters, and tons of side quests. It's kind of a mash-up of W3, Deus Ex, and GTA. The game is definitely more scripted than I think some were expecting, but no more so than many open-world games or other RPGs like Mass Effect or the Witcher games. I really hope that some of the bugs get patched so that people can appreciate this game on its merits.
I'm absolutely loving this game. I'm not having issues like some people are. It's gorgeous and immersive, the story is great so far, and the RPG elements are solid.
If you're someone like me who gets an experience that performs well and is mostly bug free the experience is phenomenal.
It's hard to really experience just how amazing the game is until you've played through places differently.
It's possible to do a stealthy netrunner style, a rambo action here, or whatever blend you want. It has quite large changes to characters perceptions of you and dialogue and choices.
There is a vast scale and scope to what you can discover and learn in Nightcity. Some of it is horrible and will make you feel like you need a shower, other bits will show you small glimmers of hope, others are just people trying to survive. Then there are random things to discover, racing, boxing, scuba diving, waxing lyrical with Buddhist monks on the nature of a soul and on and on.
The characters you'll meet are a spectacularly diverse group whose relationships with your character will fluctuate and change, deepening or weakening depending on your choices and commitment to them. If there is a weakness of the game, it's that all of them deserve even more time than they get.
It's a game to take your time and explore at your own pace. You play it as an FPS ripping through the main quest, sure, it's fine - but you'll really miss out on what makes Cyberpunk special - which is your character and the impact they have on the people around them.
Combat can be as exciting or non-existent as you want, the granular choices you make between silencers, non-lethal, stealth or loud exploding gory messes alter the game in drastic ways.
I've seen and done a lot in night city, but there is still so much to see and do, and even do it all again differently.
If you preferred the slower cinematic experience of the first Mass Effect, your Deus Ex plays were stealthy finding out every bit of info on people, and you care about your in game buds - you'll get an experience here that can't be matched.
About 20h in the game and i love it! Sure, there are bugs and glitches like the occasional floating soda-can or explosive appearance of cars where mine is parked and of course the Console release should have been avoided/delayed, but on PC, i love the game!
Graphics are great and 60FPS-ish on a ryzen 3300x and Vega56 on UWQHD (Medium settings, FidelityFX static on 85% and sharpening on 50% in Radeon driver settings)
Story is immersive and captivating, pacing is great and i can't stop playing.
That said, i don't understand most of the ranting and the extends of it, at least not about the pc version.
There are things i don't like, like existing bugs (which are actually really minor until now), the missing options (like new haircut and such) and the looting-sprees during critical missions:
"Is this our target, V?" ... "V is this our target, that's dying here???" ... "Quickly V, she's dying!"
Me: "I'm coming, I'm coming, just gotta loot that Soy-Caf here, oh and there's more ashtrays... Oh wait, let me just read this guys emails...."
I would give it 4.5 stars, which rounds up to 5, so there it is, 5 stars from me!
